  Getting your WT files deleted (UK)

  the uk are tightening up their data protection laws to make it easier for individuals to get hold of the information organisations hold on them and to get it deleted.. i think paul grundy (jwfacts) went through this with wt once and found it very time consuming and difficult.. will wt now abide by the law and hand over or permanently delete the records it keeps when requested?it would mean every uk exjw could have their report card info, personal file with age, sex, baptism date, judicial information, appointment/deletion/disfellowshipping dates, letters of disassociation, letters of recommendation when you move, phone number and address permanently removed.

  anyone acting for the wt (elders) who retain this information, eg your phone number in their phone or the secretary keeping your historical monthly report details, will be in violation.

  @phizzy this is interesting.

  Could it be the congregation is under the Act? Since such information is stored in the congregation confidential file.

  I have raised the issue of how data is stored in congregation and what measures are taken to protect my data. Still waiting for answers.

  As for US HQ, i think they will be in big trouble if they do not get their GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for every EU national done properly.

  Could it be that the father or family are undercover Russian operatives within the JW congregation?

  I knew a handful of JWs, From Publishers to Elders, who were undercover operatives for the intelligence services. Never been identified until the whole congregation gets arrested and his cover gets blown.

  In our congregation the comments were mainly to give excuse to the GB when they change their mind, as it is called now refining the teachings.

  All comments, as other mention, are one way - our decisions should be made inline with Jehovah or GB, they are the only ones that can alter decisions related to our worship. Sheep can not handle this.

  Major changes to convention security beginning in 2017

  short info on interesting changes to the major conventions this year: there will be a new security concept that will be implemented at all regional conventions in 2017.. similar to other major events (e.g.

  festivals, concerts), there will be admittance controls in stadiums.. - at each entrance, there will be a massive presence of attendants that look at each visitor.. - there will be pocket checks at the entrance.. - suspicious persons are no longer left on the convention grounds.. - suppliers to the stadium will be intensively inspected by attendants.. - there will be a special sign for attendants that must enter the stadium before 7.30 am.

  all others (even all attendants) can only enter after 7.30 am..

  In the UK the front line and entrance attendants are required to be SIA certified this year. These are trained security personnel and approved by the police/government. There are lots of brothers, mainly Eastern European, who have this registration.

  Last year excel exhibition for the RC was full of SIA attendant. Apparently someone went on stage, and these were the only attendants allowed to remove him
  

  If they can not provide these people, then they have to ask the venue to hire them.

  The good thing, is most SIA certified will have liability insurance, so if something goes wrong, WBTS will not have to for fork out any money. The insurance will pay.

  i'm a little dumb struck to see that donald trump's first cross word against russia are in support of the jws.. http://fox-news24.com/trump-warns-russia-over-jehovahs-witnesses-ban-and-urges-members-to-seek-asylum-in-the-us/.

  is this because trump genuinely values freedom of religion?

  or is it because his son in law jared kushner has financial dealings with the jws?

  I heard form couple of brothers with connection to HQ that the news is fake.

  I also saw some facebook posts requesting JW members to stop sharing it.

  The way i see it:

  1- Trump jumped on the wagon and supports this since JW is an American religion. WTBS does not want his endorsement since due to the tension between Trump and Putin, it may back fire on JWs in their appeal. So claiming it is fake.

  Or

  2- It is actually Fake and should be discarded. But due to the tension between Trump and Putin, this news may back fire on JWs in their appeal.

  Both ways, WTBS will not get the result they hoped in Russia.

  @waton, i presume the BBC 4 programme is for UK viewers.

  I asked one of the brothers about the statement by the Rev.: If church is taking our side, doesn't that make us part of this work and part for Babylon the great! Mainly when a brother quoted this in the meeting.

  I did not get an answer for this, although the looks on his face gave a lot. JWs need to start thinking and using their brains.

  I agree a ban is not a solution, it gets things worse for individuals and kicks off the persecution complex.

  interesting point he raises is that the date the ban was announced coincided with the first day the Nazis banned JW in Germany.

  I believe JWs are using this to show that the church is also supporting their case.
