  Elders and texting

  not sure if this was caught on in your cong or not, but now our service overseers text everyone in their group for their field service time.. now i understand that texting and email are good tools, i use them everyday.

  but how impersonal can you be.

  espicially when it comes to "life saving work".

  I have justed avoided phone calls from an elder

  in my 4 years of fading i only had a couple of calls and visits.

  does that make me lucky?

  i am now being hassled to "chat" to an elder via my mobile.. .

  I quit cold turkey in January.

  I have only had one visit from 2 Elders ( had a very apostate conversation without saying anything that would implicate myself). No phone calls.

  My wife goes to every meeting with our kids. I live less than 1/4 mile from the KH.

  Guess some people are just lucky!

  How many Elders are successful outside the religion? Not many.

  It would be difficult to give up such recognition if it would lower your position among your peers.

  I have noticed most ex-elders are generally more succesful in all aspects of life. This is why stepping down is no big deal and getting reappointed is not a priority.

  This is also the reason many elders have issues with their social skills.

  Yes Actually gave a Public Talk after 6 shots of Vodka ( 4 o'clock meeting, didnt go so well ,just said I was jacked on cold medicine)

  After I mentally left got "coked up" for a Circut assembly. Just said I was on anti-anxiety medicine that wasn't sitting well with me.

  Now that I am out, reality is great... Don't need the escape from that wacked out cult.

  New Age Requirement for MTS

  at our 2 day circuit assembly this weekend they made an announcement for those interested in attending the ministerial training school to meet with the do & co at 9:20 behind the stage this morning.

  they said that there is a new revised age requirement, and it is 62 or older.

  he again clarified 62 or older, single, and a ministerial servant or an elder.. do you think they feel they've put enough young brothers through the school and now they want old retired individuals who they can send anywhere?
