  i was just reading through some post(not intending to actually start a thread) and a sister calls to confirm our families service plans for tomorrow.

  the funny part is i told my wife earlier this week that this organization is complete b.s.

  guess i'll be cool about it because my wife was not all that upset or surprised.

  watchtower policies clearly make women second-class citizens.

  i don't see it changing anytime soon.

  this thread is not about how ridiculous it is that a female is not allowed to hand out mags, territory, books or carry a microphone if a qualified male is present.

  as an adult, i rarely if ever sing anymore because i think it is a joke.

  Why does guilt often remain so long with those who've left the JWs?

  i would be interested in getting people's input in why so many jws - including me from time to time, though less so now - seem to be burdened by guilt after they've left, even after they've successfully faded and aren't being hassled by family or elders.

  is it a residual leftover of the indoctrination over the years?

  No guilt, just anger, rage, and the reality of knowing how pathetic human beings is has left me not willing to trust others. At any moment it feels like that fairly lucid person you are getting to know could turn into a non-lucid Borg drone. The real world is slightly ugly, but the fake world is uglier.

  I believe that +- 30 years to account for Adams probable age was used as a cop-out as a possible explanation for why one of the false end of world prophesies didn't work. Just a vague recollection, though. How do they know stake not cross? How do they know that scriptures that don't say anything about life-saving medical procedures mean you need to die? How do they know sucking your husbands cock is wrong? A little birdie told them.

  the argument has been made on many occasions that death and suffering are a result of adam's sin.in fact, the bible is so clear on this "fact" that it is one of the few things on which nearly every christian denomination will agree.. "therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned romans 5:12. however, i would like to present the case that god had, in fact, not told adam this very thing, and consequently, adam was unaware of what really would take place upon eating the fruit.notice this verse:.

  "but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.

  " gen.2:17. i highlighted the word "you" because this is absolutely critical.why ?

  i believe you are slightly confused about the exact question that is the premise of this thread. The premise is that there IS a supreme God, who by anyone but an atheist would readily admit has the right to set standards, and whether or not he was unfair--if you don't believe that then, fine-- you need to start another thread. Just because you have free will doesn't mean you get to set the standards of right and wrong and what's fair and unfair.

  To set up a little game where you lie, someone else tells the truth, and then you change the rules of the game when you lose isn't fair. I declare it so. No such God shall have my allegiance, I can make that decision, I did, and I just shared that with you in this thread.

  It looks like i indeed can fail to admit anyone has the right to set standards, determine and state what is fair, and do so in this very thread. I just did all of these things right in front of you for the world to see. I suspect you may be confused here, free will did all of these things.

  I suspect little light has reached this poor child.

  25 years ago today my wife and I were married in a Kingdom Hall

  little did we know that twenty five years later we would be out of what we now call a cult!

  we were such good, active witnesses......we are happier now as a couple.

  If you knew me, this would be no surprise at all. I "over-do" everything. Everything worth doing, is worth making a production out of, in my world. Ooh, and inaddition to saturating this document with the feel of the Declaration of Independance, I want to also saturate it with biblical references, just like a letter from the Governing Body etc. like "Hi hope everything is good with ya'll (Ps 13:121)", "Everything is nice with me and my family (1Col 3:45)", "Nice weather we're having (Gen 4:20)". etc etc etc. Help me out with that in particular. Help Bring_the_Light, bring the light.
