Obviously, it was a concern of yours, if not why did you post it. And it definitely is not a concern of mine, but if I had known of your plight it probably would have been. By reading of your post, it seems that you carry alot of hurt and turn to insulting people who just want to try and understand. These are only MY observations and my opinion, they may not mean anything to you, but they mean the world to me.

whassup guys.
i've spent most of my web time over the last 2 years at another site full of ex-jdubs...i'd say about 50 people post there on occasion...many of that number regularly.. what struck me from the beginning, as i got to know the people posting there was...how many were now atheists...non-believers in god...the bible...pretty much anything they once held sacred as jw's!.
i dare say...90 some % do not consider themselves christian now!.

You took the words right out of my mouth. If any Christian, could just give you true, straight answer to all of your replies. And not answer them from the book (bible) that you question in the first place.
Anyhow, I just had a baptist minister (who is a wonderful human being), come by with his wife (See JW other do go door to door, except he called and made an appointment, it's call courtesy) to talk to my husband and I about Christ. He had knew of my beliefs, because I have worked with him on different community projects and our sons are very good friends. Well he was very respectful of my position, and very wonderful about explaining his (without getting angry) beliefs. And he left with saying a prayer for our family (beautifully done) and he did not leave one ounce of literature or invite us to his church. Anyway back to my point, I have been reading all of John as he suggested and I pretty much still feel the way I always have. It's great to have a belief system that gets you motivated, and it's only bad when this belief system if forced upon those who do not want to accept it. (and that one of my biggest concerns with the JW)

well guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.
but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.
it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.
Two more suggestions for the Children.
Don't let them hear the discussion of destruction (armedgeddon) before the age of 12. (They're children for goodness sake, let them have their innocense)
And let them stay in and watch their Saturday Morning Cartoons (well I guess the children today are blessed with the Cartoon Network and weekly cartoons, when i was a kid the cartoons were only on Saturday Morning)
And by the way no KINGDOM PREACHING for the kids, it was such a humilitiating experience for me to run into my friends.

for me i left when i was 17, went to college, met a great guy who i live with now and have a ton of great friends.

Oh and by the way, I think we are happy to know we can use other publications, to look things up if we don't know (you definition of satire). And by the way your satire is very funny. Laughter is good medicine. And one more thing, I'M HAPPY I CAN LAUGH AT MY JW EXPERIENCE, because it was not so funny about 10 mos. ago.

thank you one and all for the nice welcome after i posted yesterday.. i already feel like one of you.
i am so sorry as i have read some of the other posts of so many people who have been hurt in deep ways by the brothers, and although i can understand that a little, i can't understand why more effort isn't made to try to correct the situtation.
i could never undersatand why people were so concerned about going from house to house to visit someone who really doesn't want you there in the first place, and then neglect some brother or sister who whould really appreciate a friendly visit.
If you want to attract women, first learn to attract yourself. After being in the org. you spent so much time doing things, you never have the time to know yourself. All of the suggestions above were great. But another is to take up a hobby or interest you always wanted to and then you are sure to meet people that you already have a common ground with. But I'm a true believer in if you are content with yourself, you will give off an aura that will attract women. And don't fall into the trap of the JW thinking, anytime you are with a member of the opposite sex - it's about sex. Learn that the opposite sex has a brain and there is so much more to learn and dating is for growth and not marriage and sex.

I agree that you should take some steps to get YOURSELF some help. And don't try to convince your husband. You keep stating, he saying you are depressed, that the reason you think the way you do. And he say that he will support you, if you support him by attending meetings. That's a condition, not support. PLEASE PLEASE GET YOURSELF SOME help and even if you do find the JW to be a truth for you and your situation (let it be based on your TRUE decision and not to make you husband happy). One more thing, if you keep badgering him about the Org. not being the TRUTH, isn't that sort of abusive to him also.
I know this post sound harsh. But I really feel WE CAN ONLY SAVE OURSELF. And TRUE LOVE is respect for what others think, even when we don't agree. I know this is what won me over to FREEDOM. My worldly husband always (know as an unopposer)was supportive of me know matter what my choice.

hi everyone, this is my first post here.
first of all, let me explain a bit of my background.
i was raised as a jw from the age of 4 years old.
As most have stated you have written many of our stories. I don't know if you read the thread - When to Diassociate yourself? I say since you have so much invested (your family). Say as little as possible, just listen to what they have to say and NEVER put anything that could be used against you in WRITING. I don't suggest lying at all, because it's your integrity you are jeapardizing, but I would not volunteer anything that they consider wrong.
And also, welcome, and I know you will find great comfort in this site.

I AM SO VERY VERY VERY HAPPY. I'm happy to be able to participate with my community (truly loving people), I'm happy to go to my sons cub scout meetings, I'm happy to watch my very athletic son excell in sports; I'm happy to visit colleges with my son; I'm happy to go to a night club and dance the night away with my husband; I'm happy I can snuggle up and sleep in on Saturdays; I'm happy I can express my feelings with my friends (even things they don't agree on); I'm happy that I voted for the first time; I'm happy to know my kids are free to tell me they don't want to go to a religious functions; I'm happy to take my Tae Kwon Do class withOUT demons entering my mind; I'm happy to accept and buy my neighbors and friends gifts (xmas, b-day, etc.);
i'M HAPPY THAT I CAN SAY I REALLY LOVE MY JW FRIENDS AND PRAY FOR THEM DAILY. And I'm happy my family think I'm mentally ill (at least my father) and I can still talk to them about things that are important to me, but do not have to have aguments about religion anymore (they will not talk to me about spiritual matters, but will talk to a mentally ill person for hours about anything else).
Well I gues you get the point.
