I have helped run a discussion forum for the gay community before. I hated it. Everyone told you how bad you suck, what you needed to do instead, and full of advice, yet no one ponied up any money to run the forum. I enjoyed doing the HTML and PHP tagging and programming, but dealing with posters, people, sucked. I think everyone should moderate or admin a forum for a few months. They might just see how hard it is. You can't please everyone, but after all this site, and most other sites are labors of love that either cost the owner money, or barely break even if they allow advertising. No fun.

Gay Marriage - The War for Equality
by Inquisitor ini've just read lola28's thread "for those against gay marriage".
i thought i should present a clear message on what i think the gay marriage issue is all about.
the trouble with most discussions on this issue is that it gets clouded by a plethora of side-issues, non-issues, cave-men chest-thumping and medieval puritanism.

I'm glad you noticed it too. I was wondering why racial issues were so easy for Biz to identify with, solve, and explain away yet gay rights become this 'huge muddled issue' to Biz.

The will of the majority cannot infringe on the rights of the minorities. Does anyone think that voting on racial equality would have passed ballot initiatives back in the 1950's, 60's, and 70's? Look at what the slavery issue did.

Yes, that's what I mean. Who other than gays can possibly have impose twiggies as model patterns ?
LOL, gay guys aren't the ones that buy Swimsuit Illustrated, or Cosmo, or whatever female fashion magazine. If you don't like stick models blame str8 men for their fascination with huge boobs, tiny waists, and no curves. Not gay men. We are gay because we love men, not because we hate women. Most gay men have far more women friends, than any straight guy.
If you are going to blame gay men for something, blame them for making men have abs, and be in shape for modeling.

LMFAO! That's funny. You really can't be serious about gay men hating women, and using fashion as an example? LOL!

Can being gay live in harmony with being a christian?
by digderidoo ini have looked at the thread about gay marriages in california and thought about asking this question there, but instead of hi-jacking that one i thought i would ask it here.
there seems to be quite a few gay people on this site and i wonder how many class themselves as christian?
if so, can being gay live in harmony with being a christian?.

The problem is this: Humans have a sin scale, in the bible God does not.
Humans have somehow determined that homosexuality is worse than heterosexual fornication. There are other sins as well that people will "rank." Society still feels that homosexuality is a higher ranked sin than many other more acceptable ones. For instance, alcoholism or gluttony would probably rank pretty low on most people's sin scales. Even adultery is often overlooked. But for some reason people stuck homosexuality at the top of the list, right up there with murder. Profanity and blaspheming speech is definitely way at the bottom of the list.
Either Christ makes a way for sinners or he does not. If he does, then that should apply to all sins. If he doesn't then homosexuals be rejected along with every other human on the face of the earth.
er
You've hit the nail on the head. As Sweetface had posted on another thread, it is much like an exJW who was DFd for cigarette smoking judging another DF'd person whose sin was adultery, as being 'worse'. Or someone DF'd for adultery judging me for DA'ing myself for being gay, as being worse. We are all the same, it doesn't matter one way or the other to the JW. Same goes for the bible. In many if not all instances there are a whole list of sins grouped together as being EQUALLY offensive, an abomination, or evil. Why is everyone so keen on Leviticus damning homosexuals, but don't care about eating shell fish, wearing clothes made from more than one kind of fiber, or cutting one's locks of hair? Same goes for other verses. It lists liars, cheaters, and fornicators right along with homosexuality. How many people have lied? Or cheated? Have you always reported absolutely every nickel you have earned to the IRS? These are all identical sins according to God.
But many seek to use homosexuals to feel better about themselves. They use their hate of gay people, and probable own latent desires to label as a group as 'worse'. That way they can preen on the pulpit, thinking to themselves, 'at least I'm not as evil, and unworthy as those people'. It's a mechanism to soothe one's own guilty conscience. Jesus knew this, and yet people today are still just as wrapped up in defining sin as the Pharisee's. Jesus specifically reviewed that there were 2 commandments. To love God, and to love your neighbor. That's it, that's all. And he said, he who keeps these two, keeps them all.

So in 30 years, Adam never thought of eating from the tree of life
by Mr Ben inok, does this thing sound right to you?
2 special trees, middle of the garden, 30 years messin' about (at least according the spineless and shivering slave) blah blah blah .... and it never occured to the dumb twat to eat from the tree of life?

Adam was already a fruit. Eve was his fag hag. After a night of celebrating down at the White Party Eden Club, Eve's sweet tooth kicked in and she told Adam if he didn't eat the fruit with her, she wouldn't give him Steve's treehouse number she had gotten earlier at the club. Adam was still a little foggy from the hemp grass he had just named, and become a fan of, relented....cause, dang that Steve was smokin hot!
This enraged Jehoover, who promptly forced Adam to marry his fag hag, and all the resulting generations as well, so that man and woman would be completely incomaptiable (as they were designed to be originally) yet inisplicably drawn to each other. As further punishment just so that straight people would not forget this covenant/punishment God would create 5% of the population as gay, as he had always intended, just to rub it in.

JunctionGuy: We will just have to see how the illegal alien vote influences the upcoming constitutional ammendment vote in California.
LMAO. Could you strive to be any more petty? A.) As if illegal aliens vote in any statistically important number in the first place. B.) As if illegal aliens care one whit what someone (American citizens) do. C.) Of that tiny portion that does perhaps, maybe, possibly show up to vote, they would in fact be better off voting in favor of allowing gay marraige as that now opens up an entire new subset of people in which they can marry for their green card.
LOL.

Bizzybee:
But masturbating in public is disgusting and offensive by any standard of human behavior.
Perhaps by your standards. I've seen worse, and hell even done worse. There are venue appropriate places to engage in such activity, and both my boyfriend / parnter and I have partaken in such behavior. Again, there is a time and a place for such. I've seen straight people having sex at a concert at an arena filled with 30,000 patrons before. I've watched straight people having sex thinking they were being sly at a public beach. There will always be people who engage in inappropriate behavior, gay, straight, or in-between.
Likewise, for many to get upset over the displays of homosexuality in San Francisco, or the gay parts of major cities elsewhere. Well, guess what? Welcome to our world. We have had, and continue to be forced into seeing heterosexuality everywhere from walking down the streets, to films, to songs, advertisings, television, and magazines. I've been accused of 'flaunting' my homosexuality from simply walking down the street hand in hand with my boyfriend, or giving him a peck on the lips kissing him goodbye at the airport. That isn't 'flaunting' it but rather simply showing similar public displays of affection straight people do. If you don't like it, don't watch. It's why many gay people move to gay friendly and gay cities like San Francisco and Philly. Frankly, most of us aren't interested in hearing what any straight, judgmental person's opinion is. Then again don't move into the gay area of the city, and expect the world to stop because you don't want to see gay behavior. For the longest time no one was interested in living in the Castro, or SOMA in San Francisco until the gays moved in and cleaned the neighborhood up. Now all the businesses, and 'regular' people are moving in.
