  Where did you turn?

  you may have heard someone say "if jehovah's witnesses don't have the truth, then there isn't any truth".

  in fact, some of you may have at one time been so convinced that you said that very statement yourselves.. now you sing a different tune.. the following question is directed towards those who have left the organization, yet still agree with their stand on major doctrines such as (no) trinity, (no) hellfire, and who at one time clearly saw (and maybe still do) the paganism mixed into the popular holidays...... do you believe that "there isn't any truth" now, or did you turn to somewhere else for spirtuality?.

  and if you have turned somewhere else, have you had to accept doctrines that you don't believe in at all, just so you could have somewhere to go (i.e.

  in an earlier topic, blondie made reference to heated discussions in congregations over kh builds.

  this raises a question.

  my father was and elder who was selected as the building coordinator for the new kh in our local area about 2-3 years ago.

  That Sucks. Unfortunately, many people ( including myself ) have donated much time, money, and skilled labor under the guise of "doing it for Jehovah". Once it's all said and done, you walk away and the Society gets all the bennies. That Organization is ruthless when it comes to using people under the pretense of making you feel privilaged to serve Jehovah in that way. F*#& THE WATCHTOWER

  into the borg?.

  i fortunately was never able to have a bible study grow all the way to the point of baptism.

  but for those of you who did, do you feel guilty about bringing another person into what i think of as a cult?

  gwen and i went to two meetings (3 actually, but that extra one was a mistake in timing, speach council point 99, i got a "w" on that one.

  we got the two disfellowshipping parts mentioned from the august km on tape.

  not much help, but I remember that watchtower. The elders used that one on me when I wanted to take a "brother" to court for child rape.

  I don't remember what issue it was.

  i wonder what the real reason is behind this plea from the wbts.

  perhaps it is more evidence of a desire to downsize?.

  but they can't downsize the printing works if the brothers are being wasteful!

  study,prayer and the ministry.

  of all the shepherding calls that i know of, and no matter what the problem the flock may have encountered, essentially the same advice was given.

  most elders have neither the experience or understanding or right to judge personal matters such as marital concerns or child abuse.
