I know there are a lot of atheists here, but for those who still believe in God- what do you think of Joyce Meyer? From the few times I've seen her I enjoy her sense of humor while preaching. She seems very down to earth and easy to relate to.

I spank my child. My parents spanked me as a child. I don't feel I was physically abused. My brother never did anything wrong so he never got spanked. I was always the troublemaker, so I got spanked. It's been my observation that parents who don't spank their kids end up with out of control f*cked up kids.

I've posted this before, but when I was inactive a couple of elders came by my apartment and visited with me. I was waiting for the cable man to install the basic package, no movie channels. I had never had cable before so it was pretty cool for me. One of the elders (the little prick) said, "So I guess you're getting cable so you can watch dirty movies, huh?" There was nothing to warrant this comment from him. In retrospect I wish I would have told him, "No I already have enough dirty movies that me and your wife made together." Needless to say it was a very encouraging visit and my respect for these "gifts in men" went up immensely.

How do you tell somebody that they do something that is socially awkward...

my sister, who i am close with, has a tendency to talk and laugh at very high, at times even piercing volumes when she is in social situations where there is more than say, four or five people present.
it's like, her volume increases exponentially with every person that you add to the mix.

Singing at the Meetings is so mindless...
by logic&reason ini was always uncomfortable singing at the meetings when i was a kid.
as an adult, i rarely if ever sing anymore because i think it is a joke.
sit down, listen for 45 minutes.

Technically they should because "God will bring to ruin those ruining the earth." But look at the KH parking lot any given Sunday and see all the SUV's and big ass extended cab pickups.

Don't make that check out to "Watchtower" anymore!

instead of making a check out to "watchtower" the instructions are to make it out to "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses".
most of the r & f didn't give this a second thought but it made my ears perk up.

Most of the R & F didn't give this a second thought but it made my ears perk up. Maybe a thread has already been started about this but I was wondering what the motivation for the change was. Is it because of the tax breaks that Christian churches get as opposed to publishing companies?

I'm sick of my instructor so much I want to quit college!!!!

we're in week 7 and my grade sucks in this class.
i understand most of it but he is so picky that no matter how well written there is always so many points taken off.
