<looks around quietly> I'm still here as well. I have left for a month or two to come back also. Although I've only seen myself and Sirona as the resident Pagans. I do wish you would post more often as I always enjoyed them.

Do You Remember
by MrMoe inthe first time i came on jwd, it was in chat.
wendy (mommy was there) and even tho i had just left the borg, i was still very religious.
i came off rather abrasive to say the least.... i have pissed off a lot of people here, and made an ass out of myself more than a time or two.

When You Hear Someone Say "The Truth"...
by minimus inwhen a witness talks about a person not being "in the truth", does that get to you?
or if they self-righteously proclaim that "at least, they're in the truth and not worldly", does that push any buttons?

Honestly, I usually laugh. My mother has stopped using that term in front of me because I'd start laughing and shake my head everytime she said it. I only feel sorry for someone when they use that term because I know they are a long way from the "truth".

How Dumb Do They Think People Are??
by Scully ini just received this e-mail again, to an e-mail address that i rarely use.
it's fairly obvious to me that this is a huge scam, but i have to wonder how many people have fallen for it.
it must be working for this thing to still be in circulation...... love, scully.

I remember Bill O'Reilly got into some hot water for telling Americans to not do business with anyone in or from Nigeria. It was obviously a blanket statement but the amount of scams coming out of that country are huge.

`Jehovah'.A pagan/political connection
by badboy inthe name `jehovah' appears on a liverpool creamware jug with a transfer-print of spencer percival assassination on 1 side and john wesley on the other side.
(methodist recorder, issue 7562,page 8.. i also understand that the tetragramm was assoiceted with baal.
in view of the assoication with the death of a man and a pagan god,is jehovah an appropriate name 2 use.

I second Sirona's statement.
As for this twisted idea of what a Pagan is or is not I wish those who hate Paganism a healthy release from religous propoganda.

Spirituality
by donkey inmany xjws and others i have encountered in my journey express disdain for religion but they instead refer to having found a spirituality.
do you mean that instead of seeking fulfillment from life that you have made an inward journey to self discovery?
or do you mean that you have found god by journeying outward?.

I believe spirituality is attractive because you don't have to suspend logic and believe in the supernatural. I would say that even atheists can be spiritual. With spirituality you are the most important key, in religion the religion is the important key. You can have a spiritual connection with nature that doesn't require sky or earth faeries. The most important part of it (my opinion) is that it cannot be argued from you because it only applies to you. So if your spirituality involves a worship of smurfs to bring out the best in yourself then have at it.

Trading Spaces Fans Look Here!
by Shakita intravel with us across the pond as trading spaces meets changing rooms for an international redecorating challenge!
andy's got his hands full on this show, building a wall of closet doors for hildi's child bedroom, and a box of drawers for under the bed in gen's master bedroom.
we don't get much help from the weather 90 mile per hour gusts of wind knock over our work tent and threaten to send us into overtime.

I love this show. My first goal out of high school was to do interior design. Imagine that, and I'm not even gay. Of course since the New System was going to be here so soon I decided not to pursue it any further.

So, am I a phoney?
by kenpodragon ini have taken a break from the baby wait to come to the board and see what is happening.
recently i had a run in with some people from another board, that also attend this board.
in a search of my name on this site, i see that people (two weeks later) are still mentioning this and me.

It seems to me that Bill still has Elderitis. I also agree that some think he's some kind of F-saint. He has done allot of good but that doesn't make him infallable. If he makes statements that only reveal that on occasion he is a complete moron like the rest of us it's no big deal. Sometimes I think you're too verbose Kenpo and I'm sure I annoy more than a few people on these boards so I wouldn't worry too much. I still enjoy your posts and I don't think Bill deserves special consideration either.

C'mon we all know you're a hotty; post your picture in that Navy shirt and I'll be sure and salute.
On a different note I haven't seen a JW at my door in over 6 years, I've seen 3 mormons and 2 baptists though.

Christian priorities and holidays
by jurs ineven when i was a jw i thought it odd that witnesses gave so much importance to holidays.
when i was studying, i was bogged down with how awful they were because they are pagan and how wrong it was to celebrate.
it seems to me like more attention was donated to the issue of holidays than what the meat of christianity is.

Hmmm, christians had human sacrifices as well so I guess there is no reason to follow it either. In fact just about every religion has blood on its hands. Christmas is not about human sacrifice anyway.

After getting the boot I went to a 7th day adventist church and a Baptist church for about 7 years. Once the wonderment of the Bible was lifted from my eyes what I saw wasn't all that spectacular. I was agnostic for about 2 years before a boss told me about Wicca. I can now say I'm the most happy as a Pagan than at any other time in my life. I've also started attending a buddhist temple every wednesday to learn about that system of thought. It is nice not to be confined by dogma and the belief that everything but what our organization teaches is from the Devil.
