a debacle and total farce, as Steve2 says the longer the delay the better it is for the WTS to make some sort of move, it needs to be out there.

Jehovah God is Real
by TakeOffTheCrown inthere are many on this site that do not believe that jehovah truly exists; that he is not a real being.
but, he is as real as next breath you draw into your nostrils.. some of you say that there is no evidence that he exists.
yet, none of you can prove that he does not exits.. cofty, (you come to mind), i appreciate that you have stated, without reservation, that you do not believe that god exists.. yet, you cannot prove it.. hope in jehovah..

I've been embarrassed so many times!
by stillin ini was kind of proud to go out in field service, most of the time.
important message, straight from god to their doors, right?.
but if you met with the group and didn't have previous arrangements, you could end up with the village idiot for a companion.

LostandFound, I remember John Blanley being escorted to a seat near the field one year at Twickenham while I was on field security with his Bethel helper, he was in the advanced stages of dementia.

I was set up once as well Blondie with an old fart of a sister who was a typical foot in the door merchant who would not take no for an answer, my mate who arranged the groups must have pissed himself, never again though, I was also working with a brother who ended up in a shouting match with a very nice person because all she said was that the people next door weren't in! I refused to work with him ever again. We heard reports of old timers who used to yell down the letterboxes of houses telling them they were going to die! Another sister I knew was invited in to one house on the D2D and ended up in bed with the home owner!

That One Defining Moment That Changed Your Life.
by new boy init seems that many times in life there is a moment or an action that changes your whole world.
it could be just a look that someone gives you.. many times it can be something rather small.
something hardly noticeable by anyone but you.

there has been many but the most defining was in the aftermath of the WACO Texas siege, I had faded completely was was not vocalising any doubts on doctrine etc and was not really looking to, I was burnt out mentally my marriage was close to collapse and I didn't feel I could turn to anyone but the news media was covering the siege extensively we also began to hear the world "cult" mentioned far more, other groups began to me mentioned especially the WTS, Mormons, Amish, Moonies, Jim Jones etc. One particular night I was driving around listening to a talk show on the radio, the theme was about the siege and they had an expert on cults answering calls about cults and sects etc and if anyone was worried about any friends and family members who maybe involved with any cults to call the number that was mentioned after the show, naturally I called and thats where my life changed completely that night, I was put into contact with Reachout Trust an evangelical christian outreach group who although I did not subscribe to their brand of exiting cults etc they had a very well stocked office of reading material, R Franz' books Doug Harris' Awake to the Watchtower, the rest is history I purchased a few books and would read read and read, my fate was sealed, I voiced my doubts and another roller coaster of of emotions and trauma was about to begin, I got out of that marriage survived a JC and carried on with my fade and moved away two years later and never looked back.

My life ... and how JWD came to be - Part 5
by Simon inmy life ... and how jwd came to be - part 1. my life ... and how jwd came to be - part 2. my life ... and how jwd came to be - part 3. my life ... and how jwd came to be - part 4. i swear, i thought it was only a couple of years at most since i wrote part 4 of "my life and how jwd came to be".
i re-read it after someone posted to it and brought it back on active topics and it was kind of prophetic in a way ... well, i had the 5 years part right if nothing else:.
it would be nice to visit the site (or whatever one is around then) in 5 years time to let people know how we're doing and find only a few of the same people still around.
