When we were fresh in "The Truth" and naive there was trust but it only took getting burned once to realize they were not to be trusted. There was a problem in our local K. H. that we brought to the attention of the elders. They turned it around on us and made my husband and myself out to be the bad guys. How many talks were given about going to the elders for1. refreshment 2. guidence 3. correct wrongdoing etc etc. Its just a good loe boys club, we found out quickly.

or should i say i was conditioned to feel that " i should " trust the elders.
as jehovah's witnesses we were all told the elders were " crags in a waterless country " who would be a " spiritual stronghold " for us.

by RULES & REGULATIONS inthere are close to 7 million baptised jehovah's witnesses in the world.
most start off real zealous in meeting attendance and preaching work.
some remain zealous but most cool off sooner or later.

can we do a list of jw things that go "beyond what is written?".....
by oompa inor if there is one already...point me to it...the longer i am here...the more i realize that the fds/wt may have started with good intentions like maybe the pharisees did....but they went nutso and added a zillion things not even in the bible and so have the fds...some of these things are minor and some are not...like".
1. hatred of mens facial hair and sideburns (privileges witheld if you have too much or wrong style) also length of mens hair.
2. clothing requirements, ties/jackets/suits mandatory for ministry/talks/privileges....and sisters can freeze there ass of rather than wear a hilliary clinton pantsuit or they can not be on the school.

Did You See Joaquin Phoenix On Letterman???

for 10 long minutes letterman tries to interview phoenix but cannot get anything out of him!

Searching for names of elders?
by Truth and Justice ini don't know if anyone can help me on this, but my question is this- is there a website in which there is a list of kingdom halls with the names of elders from that congregation in a particular state?
i don't want anyone to go thru too much trouble for me, but i sure wonder if there is.. the reason i ask is because 2 of my brothers in the family are po and elder located in a sothern state that i know.
my curiousity is to know which hall there in, maybe it would give some sort of clues as to whether there on this site.

They do not post the name of the elders for security reasons. However, the kingdom halls do post thier numbers in the white pages. It would be leg work on your part but you can call and ask for a specific person and they will say if that person attends there. I hope this helps.
