I've had success with baiting a trap and then surrounding it with unbaited traps. They can often get the bait without springing the trap, but there's a fair chance that they will clumsily step on one of the unbaited traps.

...and yet one more thread about the Book Study...
by undercover ini just had an epiphany of sorts.... i've been of the opinion that the change to the book study arrangement was all about control.
controlling the subject matter discussed at book studies; controlling the atmosphere of free-thinking comments or, *gasp* questioning type comments from apostate-leaning attendees.. but what if this is just the beginning of the society and the jws trying to become more mainstream?
what if they're looking to re-invent themselves into a more moderate religion, dropping meeting nights, eventually dropping meetings, maybe even dropping field service.

I'm sure most cults have ambitions of becoming mainstream. The problem is that it's a hard to start a religion that doesn't really stand out from the crowd. Later, when these extreme differences become a liability, it is often convenient to start distancing the religion from them.

Dolls are evil! They are spiritistic and contribute to loose morals. That's not what that article said, but it's how some dubs will understand it. They are trained to read between the lines and come to crazy conclusions. Give them a few years and we will probably start hearing stories of demonised dolls that can't be burned.

I thought meeting in small groups was a protection when persecution comes

i thought that was the safe haven when the authorities finally banned the meetings at the kingdom hall and persecuted us (according to jw prophecy), meeting in small groups at people's homes.
any thoughts?.

ran around and looked for friends still in, wound up aposticizing myself to one of them (couldn't help it, just so derned aggrivating, had to tell her how it is).
i'm thinking about going to the district convention this summer to continue to fully experience not being a jw.

Hey, I know you. Welcome to JWD. You have some good ideas. There are some zero dollar bills with Charles Russel's picture on it. Does anyone have a link? They're good for contribution boxes. If you go to the convention, feel free to use the vending machines. It irritates them. If there is a resolution, it's your right to shout no when they ask if everyone agrees. Some people leave little post it notes around with apostate messages on them. If you can get your hands on some old Witness literature you can put apostate tracts in it and leave it there. It will eventually end up in the lost and found. Rochester often has protesting apostates. You can pretend to be a dub and carry on a loud animated conversation with them within earshot of others. I'll have to keep thinking about this. I'm giving myself ideas.

Illegal Immigrants in Congregations

I'm sick of the hypocrisy of the Watchtower Society. They target illegal immigrants, give them false hopes, get them to perform free labor and use their newly acquired social network to intimidate them and keep them in line. They are worse than the unscrupulous employers that take advantage of them. They are making a mockery of the law because it suits them and because it helps them to publish a positive growth rate.
