  Thought stopper: "We are the only ones doing what Jesus did."

  this is one of the top thought stopping phrases here.. it invalidates any argument presented against the organization.

  it basically says this:.

  "it doesn't matter who did what in the org, it doesn't matter how bad things get, we are the only ones doing what jesus did, therefore all errors and corruption are disregarded as we await the end.".

  Jesus practiced miracles.

  So, kinda - miraculously, they control and manipulate close to 7,000,000 people in the world.

  i've been watching my alcohol intake for dietary reasons.

  i've been limiting my consumption to a small half glass of vodka, or a shot or two of bourbon.

  alcohol just doesn't do well with the gains i want to make working out.

  yes, the wtbs has done much deserving ridicule- yet does far more deserving credit and respect.. but this is not about them, but the truth about god and christ they have made known, by showing it to all in the scriptures.

  because of this work, most know that god(s) is not the ultimate sadist bbqing billions in a mythical 'hellfire' anymore, etc!.

  this topic is at the request of little bird- is it possible to have a peaceful discussion here- without all the self-righteous psychobabble from so many?.

  How do YOU view salvation? 2 Stories

  just to be clear and not get in trouble by "someone" on this board, some of what i want to say in this post is adapted from a sermon from dallas willard.

  it's in my own words, but i don't want anyone telling me to beg god for forgiveness for "stealing" someone elses work by posting it on a forum.

  basically there are 2 ways of viewing the issue of salvation.

  I find both stories full of a preconceived bias. That there is a creator, that humans are the center of His work, that we are somehow seperated from the Divine...aren't there better stories out there?

  Sorry to be rude...

  To answer the question: I view salvation, if it is needed, as universal and not contingent upon anything at all.

  Realize there is a stringent scientific definition of "theory". A true theory empirically and repeatably describes observation, and is predictive.

  It's not just any silly old thing you make up.

  Have fun proving what happened before the big bang.

  Since we cannot devise experiments to observe what happened before the big bang, the point is moot. As if that had anything to do with the subject anyway.

  I care about the ones that are authentic and genuine in their life's journey, in their quests, in their joys and sorrows.

  I care about the compassionate ones.

  I care about the ones being victimized, or forced to live lives of quiet desperation.

  I have no time for those happily trapped in their own hate* - on my way to better things, as The *Guess* Who sing.

  today we got a call from my fil.

  my mil has been in utah for the last week or so and found out that her family past was full of "demon activity".

  They will be attracted to the parent who stays calm, reasonable, and doesn't scare them or make them feel sad.

  They will also be attracted to the parent that doesn't villify the other.

  Remain true to your heart, express yourself honestly, and in terms of yourself - not in comparison, not to attack, just to express what is true for you.

  Sleep is seductive and has its charms. Being awake can be bliss when you are grounded in your own truth.

  from all the "annual general meeting" notes floating around, one quotation stands out in particular:.

  many older ones already are telling the younger ones how they regretted not getting an education, pursuing a lucrative career, saving up money or not having a retirement plan.

  the sad truth is that such ones are like the murmurers of israel when coming out of egypt.. what does this remark tell us?.
