Trust the british to be too reserved to tell a guy where to stick it when he suggests certain behaviors is wrong in your own house.
She should make him a cup of tea and give him some milk ;-)

Breastfeeding not allowed.
by The Scotsman inshocker at the group last week..... i was at the group last week (1st in about 4 weeks) and the conductor (the p.o.
) takes a sister aside and tells her that she was not allowed to breastfeed her baby before or after the book study because "someone" found it awkward.. hmm, i wonder if it was him that found it awkward.. anyway the twist in the story is that the group meets at her house.
the sisters husband was far from happy but is to reserved to do anything about it.

Questioning Russell's background is gossip, so don't do it
by Robert7 inso i attended the sunday meeting yesterday, and i saw an example of a preemptive strike against those questioning the borg's russel and rutherford.. after about 25 minutes of the talk of blah blah blah (i cannot even recall any details) the speaker concludes by saying (paraphrased):.
"there are those who wonder about the allegations made against russel and rutherford.
we do not know them, so isn't that gossip?

What makes you think other people in the audience didn't dismiss this comment?
Dont be to sure that there isnt thinking people within.
And really who cares if they were drunks or flirts? Man I would hate to have to look that closely at people. -

Debuty Dog, to Print does not only refer to mechanical printing.
It can be form of hand writing, a mark on textiles or an indent or scratch, so considering the Egyptians wrote on papyrus, we have been "printing" for well over 2000 years. -

Changes to alot of the eschatological beliefs of the WBTS.
by jefferywhat ini posted something similar on a different thread but it was blissfully ignored and i really think its worth a discussion.
leolola touched on this in another thread and that is of the changes to alot of the eschatological beliefs of the wbts.

Another buzz word a few have noticed as well is they are saying "wicked" less and "ungodly" more.
Small but noticeable. -

So, Kingdom News #37 was intended to start the great tribulation?
by Olin Moyles Ghost ini have seen the following statement made on this board several times: 'kn #37 ("the end of false religion is near") was intended by the wbts to provoke the great tribulation.
that's an intriguing thought.
i'm just curious where it came from.

Ok its a little old but it helps us see things from a strategic point of view.
Everyone wants the numbers, the catholic Church and other are happy to share and be ecumenical, if you notice the response from the Mormon leader, he comes across quite reasonable and supportive of the Catholic religion.
It backs up my belief that the JW model is a mix of the Catholic and Jewish model, apart from doctrine that is, culturally very similar in that we are made to feel better ( superior) but at the same time persecuted.
So we are brought up or trained to have both a superiority complex and persecution complex at the same time, very similar to if you were a Jew.
Personally I think the kingdom news tracts are either a strategic move to kill any chance of ecumenism in the developing countries or to make active members feel impeding doom. -

neverendingjourney, interesting post and one I agree with completely. I was hoping someone felt the same.
They are an army with out a "hero".
They have generals and soldiers but no one to inspire confidence, even in themselves, and they are, for the most part, young enough to have to out live any prediction they make.
I think of Russell going back to his room after he expected to be raptured to heaven in 1914, or Rutherford sitting back with a whisky at Beth-Sarim waiting for his prophecy to be fulfilled or Franz in the Spring of 1976.
This current group of men dont see themselves in this light.
What we need now is some young gun of around 12 get baptized and claim to be of the anointed, grow up and be the new leader!!!! -

Catholic bishops speak out!
by Nathan Natas in"on february 28 the catholic bishops of alta and baja california issued a "pastoral exhortation concerning proselytism.
" the document mentions the mormons, the jehovah's witnesses, the seventh-day adventists, and pentecostals--in other words, the groups most successful in wooing catholics...".

Billy couldnt your comment "Strangely, most Catholics I've known admit that the Church is goofed up, but locally they have many friends plus social events there and it gives them a warm, fuzzy feeling to be told that just being Catholic fast-forwards them through purgatory to heavenly bliss."
Be easily translated to Strangely, most JW's I've known admit that the Church is goofed up, but locally they have many friends plus social events there and it gives them a warm, fuzzy feeling to be told that just being JW's fast-forwards them through this system to earthly bliss?
Same tail, different dog.
