Why do you put up with crap off your JW famlies?

i see where many of you have jw family members that give you a ration of crap once in a while; i've heard many rationalizations as to why some of you refuse to speak out.

as many of you know, i wrote a series of letters and exposed my apostasy formerly; in the letters i told my family they had better beware of shunning me of treating me like a pile when they run into me, i realized that i couldn't make them accept me into their houses, but in public was a different matter.

i basically told them that in public, especially at funerals, that i would rain down a load of crap on any family member that shunned me or treated me badly in anyway.

Yes.

The one that did now agrees with me.

The DFed and shunned family members I have continued to associate with, at my initiation because they try to be good and avoid me, and I've made clear that their standing in the eyes of an organization of men means nothing to me.

I am not DFed but I am not hounded due to my effective fade so I have free communication with those both inside and outside the box.

dawg: GET this point folks, you are alienated yourself if you can't say what you feel, it's them that has that power over you not vice versa.

We are getting into a subjective philosophical/ethical area here, but I don't think that it is always the right thing to "say what you feel", and there are plenty of examples that could be introduced to demonstrate that.

I'm not in a situation where I have to live much of a "double life."

I work in a respectable business, am not covered in tattoos, am not fornicating, am clean shaven, go to college, and abandoned the meetings by coinciding my fade with a congregation change so that nobody misses me.

I deconverted my closest relative simply by NOT being outspoken but by taking things slow, being tactful, respectful, sensitive.

If I want to help others I care about, and I do, it would be self-defeating to be too outspoken in a foolish display of "courage" or "taking a stand."

I am fighting a billion-dollar corporation that has assimilated the minds of my family. Guerrilla warfare is my only option.

The individuals are victims; they are not the enemies that I need to "take a stand" against. If I have a chance to rescue them one at a time, the right thing is to do so. I don't know how many I can get before I'm caught, maybe none, maybe a few. But I don't really see a lot of other options. So I play along and interact with them in a way that hopefully maximizes my chances for success.

Were YOU Personally Afraid of The "Demons"???

did you think you might "get contacted" somehow by those powerful demons?

did you avoid anything the society said was associated with demonism?.

I thought it was interesting that although the WTS officially believes and teaches that demons still possess people, they have no exorcism protocol nor any experienced exorcists.

The Catholic Church recognizes demon possession and its exorcists have performed many thousands of exorcisms. They may be loony but at least their actions are consistent with their doctrine.

So I wondered, what happens if a JW encounters a person who is demon possessed? The elders certainly aren't going to try to expel the demon... according the WTS teaching those powers went away along with the powers of healing and speaking in tongues.

Is the family of a possessed person expected to get the demon expelled by the clergy of Babylon the Great, then come to the Watchtower learn the truth about God?

What does the Society expect JWs to do when they encounter a possessed person?

i was out with some jw friends.

one elder, 3 ministerial servants, and lowly fading inactive publisher missinglink in a car looking for something fun to do.

we saw someone paragliding off a mountain.

Blondie- I had to give a #4 talk based on that article. I didn't write outlines, I gave manuscript talks. I've got the whole thing on my computer still.

I'm pretty sure paragliding would be considered "out."

Fred Franz' Anti-Governing Body Gilead Talk...Help, Please...

for those of you familiar with the talk mentioned in my title, i'd like a bit of help understanding what franz was trying to convey.

yes, i know it seems to have been as a result of the ongoing discussions about whether or not to take full control of the wts away from the president and give it to the governing body.

but i'm still not sure how he thought his points were doing that.

Confession: But if his goal was to keep the power with the President, why would he present such ample evidence that there was no such power during the first century? Was he being consistent with his goal? This is my understanding:

Franz argued against the concept of a Governing Body, and in favor of individuals being used by God. It was implied, of course, that the individual being used by God at the time was the President. Franz apparently viewed Rutherford as Elijah and Knorr as Elisha. The literature from that period reflects the teaching that the organization was the "Elijah class" in the Rutherford era and became the "Elisha class" in the Knorr era.

Franz's goal was to keep power vested in the presidency, and out of the hands of the other GB members. However, in so arguing, you are correct that he essentially undermined the "official" teaching at the time that the Governing Body was in charge of the organization.

not that any of them would post, but do you think that they have people who they secretly have visit anti-jw sites and forums like this just for the purpose of seeing what people are saying about them and what their current members might stumble upon?.

if you google jws, the first couple are official, the next two are wikis, then you have an anti-jw site and then there's this one.

any current or potential member that is looking for more information than is published by the wbts will be directed to these sites.
