I wanted to take the time and thank each one of you for all your help, concerns and good thoughts. This forum has been extremely helpful for my “awakening”. I know that I’m not alone dealing with my problems, and that many people understand me.

I'll try to answer to everyone:

Babygirl75: Thinking for yourself & freedom from the org is a wonderful thing!!- I agree! I feel that a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I still have a lot to do, but I’m confident that it will work!

OnTheWayOut: are you going to make the pilgrimage to Patterson for your intense training, or will you get out of it, or face the possibility of losing the eldership?- I’m looking for alternatives on how I can skip that “training”. I have the possibility of moving to another company soon, so “I will not have vacations for a year”… ;) I’m still trying to find a good excuse to step down as an Elder. Now that my wife is almost awake, I’m sure that she will help me find it!

Chalam: Praying (to Jesus) that you and your family take the red pill and get unplugged from The Matrix.- Thanks a lot for your prayers. At this moment, that is what we need!! J The most difficult task now, is “unplugging” my parents.

Feenx: How long have you been having such discussions with your wife? Were you both raised in "the truth?"- Yes, Feenx. We were both raised in “the truth”… That means more than 30 years of indoctrination. We didn’t know anything else… I started having heavy doubts and looking for answers 1 year ago. I started talking to her about it for the last 4 or 5 months. At the beginning, it was very, very difficult to talk to her. I noticed that everything started “clicking” for her in the last 4 weeks!

The name (tooktheredpill): Neo took a red pill in order to be disconnected from the Matrix.

I can't wait to tell you something that happened last night. In order to understarnd it, let me give you some details about me first: I'm still an Elder, with my wife and the whole family and friends inside the borg. My dad is an Elder, and my in-law is an elder too.

I had a GREAT conversation with my wife last night. I've been showing her (for some months, and little-by-little) information that doesn't make sense to me anymore. (607, 1914, disfellowshipping, pedophile cases, etc.)

In the beginning, I used to find "a wall", and she used to defend the organization immediately (as we were trained to do). But lately, she's been asking me questions, and looking for information by herself.

I noticed that yesterday she started arguing with her parents (hardcore JW'S) about the "new light" issue. (I wasn't involved in the conversation in any way). She told them that the new light is RECYCLED!! She mentioned specific Rutherford publications that explained the "generation issue" in the 1930's, and then, she noticed how her parents didn't want to analyze the evidence!! She also explained them that it was not fair to disfellowship somebody for having doubts, while there are pedophiles in good stand in the congregation!!!

She was really upset! Later, she vented with me, telling me that her parents didn't use their brains! I asked her: "Did you noticed NOW that we are really a sect? We need to comply with everything the Org. says, without thinking!"

I think that this is great. And I hope that she is really waking up!!

Please, keep us in your prayers. (And if you don't believe in God, at least wish me "Good Luck" ) Hehe!

ive been away from the borg for nearly a year now (whoo hoo) without anyone noticing (so much for that brotherly luuuuuuurrvvve) been reading some of the posts & wow.

this is the complete article "peddlers of paradise" as it appeared in the november 1940 american magazine.

Thanks a lot for the article!!! It clarifies a lot of stuff that has been "sanitized" in the "Proclaimers" book (Like Beth-Sarim, etc.)

It's good to have scans of the original articles.

I've found a lot of good stuff in tha Time magazine website, but there are no scans I'm trying to find a scan of this magazine from 1935: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,883470-2,00.html.

The article mentions this:

"the Bible Students have concluded that three "cosmos" divide history. Cosmos I began with Adam, ended with the Flood. Cosmos II ended in 1914. The Bible Students once predicted that Cosmos III would end with the Kingdom of God in 2874 but currently they are more concerned with Judge Rutherford's prophecy that a universal war is looming."

If the kingdom of 1000 years "would end in 2874", then it started in 1874!! You can show anybody that in 1935, the JW's didn't know that Christ kingdom started in 1914!

Any help will be appreciated!

What did you learn as a JW that helps you in your work today

note: if you are cautious about being outted then be very careful what you post.. the biggest thing i learned was sign language.

after i left i had a few jobs interpreting.. public speaking - didn't help me at all - that could be because speaking to someone else on the platform doesn't gives women an opportunity to address the audience.

i took a intro course in public speaking that was far better than 22 years of the ministry school.. i'm thinking .

"I try to focus in the few positive aspects of being a JW, and how that can help me to improve myself. I like to help people too, and that is something that I really enjoy. I make "wordly" friends very easily, and I've known very very good people outside the organization.
As JW, we are not afraid of "cold calling" on people. Think about this: If we are capable of "selling" a Watchtower magazine to a person that we don't know, and that's not really interested in it, we can be the best salesman/saleswoman in the world! As you mentioned, we have the ability to speak well before a class, without problems. We can convince people. Use that in your favor!"

1. bethel in ny suspect high level apostate, cant identify it but know its there.

2. major organizational changes about to start rolling out, one is changes to the "service committee" and titles, po to be done away with, thats all i know for now.

was told that if you are the sort of person that cant handle changes, you wont stay in the org for long.
