what a fantastic book!
i really enjoyed it.
i loved the way don cameron refused to get bogged down with arguing for an alternative scriptural interpretation to the witnesses.
Guys:
CoC is a great book. It disassembles the FDS supposed "authority" from the source. Step by step, and with a lot of logic.
It helped me to disconnect my wife from the Borg.
Highly recommend it!!

i have been lurking on this site for long time now.
my sister-in-law told me about this forum when i had questions and concerns about bible teachings from the organization.
i have never posted because i was scared of getting found out---that would have disastrous results.
WELCOME!!! TTRP
was there anything positive about being a jehovah's witness?
Was there anything positive about being a Jehovah's Witness? I'm a good speaker, no matter how big the auditorium is :) . I developed a love for reading. I mentioned the following in past threads: I try to focus in the few positive aspects of being a JW, and how that can help me to improve myself. I like to help people too, and that is something that I really enjoy. I make "wordly" friends very easily, and I've known very very good people outside the organization.
As JW, we are not afraid of "cold calling" on people. Think about this: If we are capable of "selling" a Watchtower magazine to a person that we don't know, and that's not really interested in it, we can be the best salesman/saleswoman in the world! cheap energy on the verge.

bussard polywell reactor:.
Hi Burn!
When you mentioned 'Mr. Fusion", I remembered the movie "Back to the Future":
The Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor is the name of a power source used by the De Loreantime machine in the Back to the Future trilogy. It can be seen towards the end of Back to the Future when "Doc" Emmett Brown pulls into the McFlys' driveway after a trip to the year 2015, and is an obvious parody of Mr. Coffee machines, which were very popular at the time of filming. Ironically, the coffee maker from which the prop was made was actually made by Krups.
The Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor converts household waste to power the time machine's flux capacitor and time circuits using nuclear fusion. (It is thought that this is cold fusion.) In the film, Mr. Fusion allows the De Lorean time machine to generate the required 1.21 gigawatts needed to travel to any point in time. The energy produced by Mr. Fusion replaces plutonium as the primary power source of the De Lorean's time travel and flight capabilities. However, as stated in Back to the Future III, the car is still driven by its original internal combustion engine. Just as with the flux capacitor itself, the Mr. Fusion may also be considered a deus ex machina, allowing the characters to sidestep the ardurous power-generation requirements that the plot of the first film hinged upon.
When the De Lorean is parked in a 2015 alleyway, a "Fusion Industries" machine is briefly seen.
hello guys!!.
i had the privilege of going to the special assembly day last saturday.
we had a bethel member giving the main speech.
I would LOVE an audio recording of one of those guys saying the reason education is not allowed is because of "exposure to non-bible ideas". Apologists are always claiming the reason is "bad association leading to all college students in drunken orgies".
MissingLink: That was the excuse years ago. "College was too dangerous". But we have ONLINE CLASSES now! So, they modified the excuse now: College Education promotes "anti-biblical ideas"...
Just imagine how many wasted brains we have inside the Organization...

i ve been disturbed by some people making comments like..."well i would respect my witness partners choice not to take blood.".
consider 1997 marshall applewhite is leader of the heavens gate cult, he convinces 38 members that armagedon is coming and to escape being "recycled" they need to escape in a spaceship hidden in the tail of the hale-bopp comet.
to get on board they need to commit suicide...which they did.
Witness007:
That's Ted Jaracz. It was a joke.

Hello guys!!
I had the “privilege”™ of going to the “Special Assembly day” last Saturday. We had a Bethel Member giving the main speech. His name is Harold Jackson.
Anyway, in his speech he started mentioning things that “Satan uses to try to trap us”: neighbors, family members “not in the Truth”™, etc… (You know the drill…)
But he mentioned very clearly the following details: (I’m translating from Spanish, so I don’t know if I’m using the correct terms):
1) “We Must Not think by ourselves”!!!
2) “Superior Education ™ exposes students to anti-biblical ideas” / Col 2:8
3) “Warning: entertainment promotes “filthy practices”
4) Use of cell phones for “texting” during the meetings is forbidden! (I will play solitaire then!)
5) God’s laws = Organization
6) Romans 12:12 means that being “malleable” by Jehovah is “to be useful” to the Organization!!
For those of you that are anxiously waiting for this “Special Assembly Day”, please accept my condolences in advance!!!!!
if your child is in middle or high school, please contact his teacher or school administrator to request that his school participate in the "community classroom" program sponsored by pbs and the independent television service.. .
knocking was selected for "community classroom" and will be offered to public schools across the united states for free.. .
the story lines in knocking have been developed into a curriculum with supporting video modules from the film.
OMG!!!
I received the same email message this morning from " [email protected]"!
Do you think that the WTS is donating money to PBS, in order to have "positive" information about them spreading out???
