the other day some friends and i were talking about shows we liked when we were kids.
one show i absolutely loved when i was a kid, but cannot remember the name, was about some kids who would fly around in a tall wooden rocket ship.
the characters were all marionettes on strings and the ship looked like it was cobbled together will bits and pieces of scrap wood with a cone on the top.. i think it aired in the 1970's or 1980's.
Hmm, I was born in '63 and grew up in L.A., but never heard of Vegetable Soup.
I remember one show where u would take your crayons and write on the screen.

i remember as a child, before i knew what a "loom" was, i thought it must have been a groin, and therefore the fruit of the loom was dangly bits.
after all, that's what fruit of the looms protects, right?
what misconceptions did you have as a child?.
When I was about 10 I remember my mom (bless her heart, I didn't have a dad at the time) trying to explain the birds and bees to me. Of course, she used as much WTS lingo as she could.
What I got out of that chat was that a man's "seed" went into the woman. In my young mind, the only "seed" I could picture fitting through that small hole in my penis was a sesame seed. Imagine my shock a few years later when I discovered it wasn't like a sesame seed at all, lol.
i was "assigned" by the body of elders to talk to a pioneer/ministerial servant about his b o. he didn't have a car and so was always put in someone's car group.
everyone complained about having to take him.. when i talked to him about his stink, he got very very offended and copped an attitude.
i finally told him that unless he started bathing and washing his disgusting oily hair, he would be removed from his assignments.....what i never understood is how anybody could be told that they actually smelled and yet get pissed off with me!.
It's not B.O., but here's one of the best descriptions of bad breath that I've ever heard:
"Her breath is so bad, it smells like something crawled out of her butt, found its way to her mouth, and died there. Then, it came back to life just long enough to fart."

Gosh, I think it's been at least 10 years. I drove around trying to locate the different places I had lived in during the 60s--old duplexes and apartments--and they had ALL been replaced by condos. The same for my grammar school
By the way, if Pier Avenue School is still there, that's where the gym scenes for the Stephen King movie Carrie were filmed.
