i have found certain questions very effective in helping open my moms eyes.. she saw me go from infancy to elder over a period of 40 years.. when i stopped attending meetings, she couldn't understand it.. i now understanding how being a jw causes real thinking ability to malfunction or.
cease operating all together.
the effort to revive her thinking ability has worked to a degree.
your comments made me think of one scripture in particular, "Make sure of ALL things. Hold fast to what is fine" Yeah and when we do this, we are condemned?
My favorite topic to prove their false teachings:
1.) If Jesus hung on a stake, then the scriptures mentioning a sign being hung above his head is wrong. Therefore, he did hang on a cross.
2.) Nails were referred to in the scriptures, in a plural sense. Had Jesus hung on a stake, only one nail would have been needed.

latest gossip round these here parts is that the wife of the presiding overseer has been 'publically reproved'.
nothing has filtered through about what the 'crime' was yet.. they are a young couple and he appears to me to be very conscientious in doing his best for the brothers.
i feel sorry for them as i have seen the pressure on them to juggle the demands of the cong with his wife who i think may suffer from depression.. thanks.
They may as well Public Reprove everyone. Nobody is perfect and all.... quote: ...."Fall short of His glory" Well if anything, it will prove to this elder that even he doesn't have a perfect spouse. *hallelujah" That will humble him a bit too. Her being PR was actually to his benefit.

i know that roller has the apostatruck, but what does everybody else drive?.
i personally have a pontiac grand prix for work, and a saab convertible for fun.. jk.
hey...if I didn't have a ca. 45 mile commute to work each day, I'd use my bike too. Non-polluting too....way to go...Good for you!

it is after 3am and i am sitting here on my own not being able to sleep.
this seems to happen to me quite often lately and my head is like a washing machine - going round and round.
i am going to see the doctor tomorrow and tell him how i am feeling.

Don't know how old you are, but I have been getting up at 3:30 every morning for the past 3 years. Sometimes I wake up and 3 and figure, "Hey...if I'm already awake, I may as well get up". I do go to bed usually by 9pm and the ca. 6-6.5 hrs. is enough for me. I'm fit all day long. Btw, I'm 51derful. Maybe your body clock is changing?????
Hang in there with your problems in life. They will get better. But try to do what you feel is right. Don't always listen to others if you don't approve of their opinions 100%. Your gut feelings, says alot.

I have a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T "T" for turbo. After my '73 Dodge Charger with the 318 engine, I'm happy with this Jetta's 180HP. Obviously I still love a car that GOOOOOOOOOOOES!
I do have a history of smaller cars, besides getting run off the road by a semi, or trying to drive them over Vail Pass, flooring it and could not exceed 50mph. GRRRRRRR! I told myself, never would I get a car with less than 140HP.

oh, boy.
just had these thoughts rattling around in my head a few days, so wanted to get your takes.
my college son and i were talking and he said a fellow worker in his 50's said he had been aware his mother was sick and dying in another town , but had not died yet.
I think we will be off to another realm, whether it's heaven, another planet or on the other side. Either way...we will survive, everyone, including the wicked. I think God loves us all enough to give everyone another chance and who knows, maybe we did live a former life and were wicked back then and he gave us another chance and this time we did better. Who knows. I'll wait until I die to find out. Anyone care to join me in the other realm someday?
