One more experience and I am sure I am not alone in this. How many of you have been to a house in which the WHOLE yard (front in my case and back) was totally saturated in just about every square inch with dog crap? *yuck* Then we get to the door, and the whole enclosed porch that we had to walk through to knock on the main door looked just as bad, with garbage among the crap as well. *barf* We have tolerated a lot haven't we?

I once went alone to a door of a mobile home (others waited in the car). It had a very tacky self-made porch to the main door, just a small thing, but sufficient in size. I knocked at the door a couple of times, no answer. So I decided to head back to the car. As soon as I got in the car, slammed the door shut, out from underneath that porch came a mad and mean looking pitbull. OMG...was God's angels protecting me? He was right underneath me just a min earlier. Believe me, he was MEAN looking. *yikes* To this day, obviously I haven't forgotten that.

It's hard to believe this kind of religious intolerance can happen in America in 2007.
The city of Oak Lawn, Illinois has banned any recognition of Christmas in their schools. The ban came after a Muslim woman complained.
I don't know what you think about that, but I am more than a little annoyed by those who want to replace Christmas with a secular holiday.
It's time Christians take a stand and proclaim to our communities that Christmas is not just a winter holiday focused on materialism, but a "holy day" when we celebrate the birth of our Savior.Sincerely,

Untolerable, Unheard of and down right Unbelievable experiences
by REBORNAGAIN inhas anyone experienced something really outrageous among the jw's that you want to share?.
we once had a couple of jw's follow us (policeing us) as we were on our way to my (then, he's now my ex) husband's boss's home.
his boss wanted us over for an end of the year party and didn't consider it a christmas party because he knew we didn't celebrate christmas.

I bet they didn't even announce over the loudspeaker a need for a competant Paramedic, MD or Nurse. yeah...they should have stopped the session early, but noooooooooooooooo...getting their stupid death messages across to us always meant more than a life itself.

I think the worse for me was just the fact that you were watched 24/7. If not by human eyes then the eyes of God. Whether it was feeling guilty, or trying to measure up. We were literally like robots, no say, no thoughts, no actions nor pleasures..... based on what WE wanted. How controlling was that? I could go on, but 'nuf said.

Is the Bible really from God.....

if it really is from god, why are things still so mysterious, i.e.
why are we still in the dark about the future?

Wow.....good point. I learned that in college, that people back then called on the clergy because they themselves were uneducated, couldn't read and depended on them for the correct answers. For all we know, the Bible may have contained all the answers we seek, but got lost in translation and otherwise.
BTW. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and opinions. I'm appreciating it all. Gives me more to think about and compels me to continue to search, seek and learn.
