  Need help disproving 607BCE

  i hope i am posting in the right board.. anyway, i am newly out of the org, and have a dear friend who i've been speaking to all along about my thought process/decisions.

  she has been hesitantly receptive (how's that for confusing?!

  lol) and when i brought up 607bce to her yesterday, she was truly intrigued and had not heard of this as a false date before.. she is still half in/half out, so i know she isn't going to do a lot of naughty independent research on her own.

  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there is no evidence either biblical or secular that has disproved the validity of 607 BCE. I have been studying this subject for nearly forty years and have read all published attempts to dissprove 607 BCE only to find that on a critical analysis none of these attempts have succeeded. The most recent attempt has been by Carl Jonsson who has acquired a reputation of being a competent chronologist has claimed in his most recent work that there are at least seventeen lines of evidence that disprove 607 BCE. However, competent biblical scholars have shown that such a claim is fanciful and is not supported by either the biblical or secular evidence.
  
  This does not mean that 607 BCE or any other date is not capable of being falsified but at this point in time there is simply no evidence that disproves the validity of 607 BCE for the Fall of Jerusalem. scholar JW

  What percentage of males to females in the congos?

  i have heard that there is way more females in most congregations.

  it seems the males are doing 12 hour a day window washing jobs and have no more energy left to attend a mind control session.

  has anyone else noticed that trend?

  Yes, in general there are more females than males. But not my much. Maybe 51% - 49%.

  The latest Pew Survey shows JWs with one of the largest excess of females at 60% - 40%

  charles truax betts was a dentist that wrote about the dangers of aluminum poisoning.. many of his articles were published in the golden age magazine during the 1920's and 1930's.. he wrote a book with the title "aluminum poisoning", the second edition being published in 1928.. it may be obtained at this webpage:.

  Thanks for that Kenneson. The stories of aluminum in the brains of alzheimer patients is started out as bad science, and snowballed into an urban legend.

  Quick Summary:

  1) Alzheimer patients had no excess aluminum originally (but this was not noted)

  2) People studying their brains used a dye on the cells (which contained aluminum)

  3) The alzheimer brain is more "spongy" and absorbed the aluminum in the dye

  4) Lookie - this alzheimer brain is full of aluminum!! It must be the cause!

  i was.... the last years i only did 4-5 hours max/month and they offered me pioneer support...huh...which i refused btw.. now i regret i didn't just put 20-30 hours every month without in fact going out in the booring service at all!!!

  As a believer I thought it was a horribly bad idea to try to "trick" god by putting down extra stats. Then when I was mentally free I didn't give a rats ass about the stats so I just put in 0. So, yes, I was always honest. Do I get a cookie?

  ... she has joined 'church of the flying spaghetti monster' on facebook and is telling me about the correlation between global warming and pirates.

  i tried to talk her out of it, but she said nobody should tell her what she can do and cannot and besides she want a piercing.

  i settled for the spaghetti monster as the lesser of two evils ;-).. seriously, how much trouble would she get if the elders got wind of this?.

  One man's spoof is another man's religion. Pastafarianism is as valid as any of them. I like it's moral code and sense of community. And seeing fellow pastafarians in full pirate regalia gives a kind of other-worldly reverence and awe that you can feel in your gut. Put some grog in there, and you can feel his presence. Non-believers just wouldn't be able to relate.

  Brilliant Talk Yesterday

  just thought i would share this.........a brother who used to be a mercenary before he came into the truth gave the talk at the hall yesterday and he said that the bible was like jehovah's cv.....it told us everything about him.....so we can really know him.. he also said with all the governments and all the rules and regulations in the world, and nothing working at the moment, we should appreciate that jehovah only has 2 laws.............love him above all other things, and love our neighbours..........if only the whole world obeyed those 2 laws there would be peace without the need for armageddon................so its all down to humans why things are going wrong.. if we abandoned the planet tomorrow the earth would repair itself and there would be peace and harmony in nature.......... man has really messed up.. thank goodness we have had the chance to know jehivah and have a hope for the future!!.

  can i say from the outset that i feel grief and frustration over family/friends that are not aware of the truth about the "truth".

  they are good people who genuinely believe - as we all did at one time- that they are in gods organization and that this is what he requires of them.. .

  how liberating for us to have come to know the real truth and how sad they remain guilt ridden and under mind control that fosters these conditional friendships that bother us so much.. .

  If you have the patience to do it, it's great to be able to help others. But I'd say have a deadline in your mind for being free yourself, with or without them. I gave myself a 1 year deadline which ended up being only 4 months.
