  this past week randy was hospitalized.

  he is now home recovering and has asked me to let you know that he will need a couple of days to recuperate.

  reeder oak ridge eric hampton reeder september 27, 2012 eric hampton reeder sadly passed away at his home in oak ridge on september 27, at 51 years.

  he's survived by two sons, tyler and travis, and many dear friends.

  he will always be seen in the mountains, seas, suns, and storms he loved.

  Very nice, thank you for that insight into Eric and his life. I'm sure I would have been good friends with him if I only had the chance. Sometimes even when you see someone collapsing from within there is nothing you can do but listen. Both of you did just that. You are true friends.

  SAD news about OOMPA......

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

  "Safeguard Your Mind" assembly targeting apostate thinking

  i recently attended the second day of the 2 day assembly for safeguarding your mind.

  the first talk was entitled "feed your mind at jehovah's table".

  the first portion of this talk specifically targeted apostates warning members to not listen to them "even if they were once strong in the truth or had great responsiblity in the congregation".

  Eric Reeder's Memorial?

  i've seen the insulting obituary and like all of you, i'm blown away.. i've also seen several threads of individuals crying out for an opportunity to meet with others on this board.

  maybe it's time to recognize the need for an assembly (if you will) to foster a familial relationship for those on this board!.

  what if a memorial were planned, in eric's honor of course, for a weekend next september in north carolina?

  so oompa got df'd this week...

  no call to invite me to a committee meeting...no notification of deciding i should be df'd....no telling my jw wife of the announcement...not a chance to appeal what i did not even know what was going on...my mini-serve son is devasted....he even researched it....told me to go to page 153-154 of the od book...never heard of it but it is a green hardback given to all who are to be baptized.

  wow...the elders broke every rule in this book as to my case.... i have no respect for these men that can take away your jw family without even telling you they are going to.

  my jw son has now begged me to meet with my committee...even though there is prob zero chance they can reverse the decision...that chance is from when they let you know...and you have to appeal by letter within 7 days (i cant make this stuff up!!

  It sounds to me that the elders in oompa's judicial committee did not follow their own procedure as laid out by the GB. I'm sure this happens a lot. I'm also sure the higher ups in the borg ie:gb would "counsel" these elders if they were to find out what the outcome of their folly was.
