None of us want to be like our parents. My mother should have been spade like a dog however good thing she wasn't cause I like being here. I take the good things from my parents and fight the bad. My mom was great at entertaining groups of kids. She would let us get as dirty as we wanted and never complained about the laundry. Now, I have the same policy, if the kids are clean after playing outside all day, they didn't have any fun.

I'll have to remember this for when my boys get older. I stayed at home for too long as well. My mother also made it impossible for me to leave by charging me so much to live at home I couldn't save any money.
I used to get so mad about spending what it would have cost to live on my own with all the freedom and space, to live at home under her thumb.
I hope my kids get a better deal out of life.

I think the powers that be are just trying to create a climate of fear and paranoia among rank and file so fewer will look outside the organization for anything.

You know you're going to get old - do you take better care of yourself?
by truthseeker inthe wt has pulled the carpet from under the dubs feet again and again concerning the nearness of armageddon.
now that you know you're getting older, do you look after your health more?
do you try to stay looking young?

LOL, I have started using a facial cream to help minimize the crowsfeet and laughlines.
Para and I are both on diets, although he is doing better than I am.

I love to garden. I also crochet and needlepoint. I like to read, sometimes to learn but mostly to relax. Para and I are also into online games.
This is all when we have time between three kids, career and the massive pile of laundry.

I volunteer at my sons elementary school every year. We all get the "Don't touch the kids and don't ever be alone with a child" speech at the beginning of the year. My first morning last year a little girl who was having a hard time adjusting crawled into my lap and fell asleep. What was I supposed to do? Push her away when she was already upset? I was so torn.
It is really hard not to hug a child who has fallen down or who is just overwhelmed.
It is really hard not to help a child who just can't get their pants pulled back up after using the toilet(usually with the door open for the whole class to see)
It is really awkward when a little boy can't get his zipper done up and you fumble with it while trying not to touch anything inappropriate. ( the little boy's mother howled with laughter when I told her the story later)
One little girl recognized me in a pet store and ran up to me and hugged me. I greeted her and her sister by name and chatted with them (with my children present) and the grandmother stalked over, grabbed their arms and hauled them out of the store, saying loudly "Who was that strange woman". (Their mother also laughed and said that was typical behavior of her mother in law)

Welcome to the mayhem, join as we weep and gnash our teeth, bemoaning our exsistances. Wait, that is all wrong. Let me try again.
Welcome to the mayhem, where we build each other up and love one another unconditionally.

Thinking about Halloween yet?

I am very excited about Halloween this year. Para has never done it and neither have our kids. Not sure about us dressing up but the kids are for sure. Our oldest wants to put a decoration on the door which might be helpful in freaking out any "visitors" we may have. One of our kids also has a birthday around that time so I was thinking of doing a halloween themed party for him.
