The gentleman in question seems quite sincere in his desire to help people. I have talked to him before about his desire to help the young ones before they get in to bad company. I know his church is a downtown Toronto congregation so he does see the worst of the worst. He and his wife are very active in their church and I suppose he was just being nice.
I resent him thinking that my kids need bible education. If he only knew....
I don't get the perve vibe off him. I get the old man from a nicer era trying to do right vibe.
My neighbour says she didn't deliberately send him in my direction but she could be tricking me, she is sneaky that way. (BTW I hope she reads this, she will pee her pants laughing)

Can your kids come to my basement to study the bible?
by Paralipomenon inon the weekend one of our newer neighbours, noticed my wife and our neighbour outside with all the kids.
he approached them and said that he wanted to start a religious meeting for children in his basement and wanted to invite ours.
now my wife has been in religious overdose for the past few weeks and has taken up hissing violently at anything loosely affiliated with religion.

I remember one congregation that I never saw the CO's wife. EVER. She was sick the entire time he was assigned to our circuit. So, instead of his visit being up-building it was a seriously uncomfortable time, especially when three young beautiful pioneers pooled our cash to take the CO and his wife out to a steak house for supper and only he showed up. SO, what do you talk about with a man twice your age? Nothing, the man didn't say anything all during the meal. It was awful.
The next time he came, my social climbing, drag her husband into the borg by his short-hairs, mother invited them for dinner along with another family. We (my friend, kid from visiting family and myself) were playing pool in the basement with the CO (no wife, again). After I beat him he put down the cue and went upstairs. My father took me aside and said that maybe I should have let him win. I didn't realize i was supposed to let a grown man win just to make him feel good.
Years later my MIL invite the CO and wife for dinner at her house. Wonderful idea in theory, but very impractical. My husband and FIL work long hours. So it was just them, MIL and me with my three tired cranky hungry kids. They stayed 30 mins and had to rush off to another persons house. At the time I was hoping someone would give me a little encouragement and to be blown off like that was a stab to the heart.
If you want a real horror story of evil CO madness, get Paralipomenon to post about his favorite CO. -

It has been 2 years since my Grandmother passed. I had to help my mother go thru her things almost withing hours of her passing due to having get the house on the market.
At the time it was terrible, many tears and much heartache. Now I have a giggle when I think about what my Gramma would have said about me going thru her "unmentionables". Not to mention, the stacks of shoes she had. We found my grandfathers hearing aid still in his bedside table and he had passed a few years before her. We found a shirt she borrowed from me when I was teenager tucked into a cedar chest with some very racy nighties and the dresses she wore to her children's weddings.
In time the pain dulls and the good memories surface. Cry, it helps.

I should also mention that my adoptive non JW family has arranged for me to celebrate my birthday with one of their daughters. So, for the first time in my memory, I am celebrating my B-day and I have to buy a gift for Amber as well. I am completely at a loss on how to behave and what to get. I am also very touched to have such great friends.

The funny part was my reaction. Because my kids answered the door with me ( little fiends wouldn't want to miss anything) I almost said "We don't believe in Santa". Last year i would have said it and now I realize how arrogant it sounds.
So when will these automatic reactions stop? Am I doomed?

My Cats new Litter Box
by OUTLAW inalot of you have seen them..automated self-cleaning cat litter boxes..it`s frigg`n amazing!..the cat takes a dump..10 minutes later,a rake comes from the back of the box and scoops up the poop..theres a little garbage can at the front of the box..the garbage can lid is raised by the machine and the poop is placed in the garbage can..then the machine closes the lid and rakes the sand perfect, for the cats next poop..lol!
!...............theres been many improvements through the years and i`ve just upgraded to the new cat litter box "poopius maximus!"..lol!
!.......i was amazed how the first model could rake the sand so perfect and evenly.my first thought was:"what do they expect the cat do do,take a poop and play a round of golf in his litter box??"..lol!

Scully, I am not saying it is not a concern, I just don't want to spread hysteria. When I was pregnant with my first baby, I was told to get rid of my cats. There are always going to be worse case outcomes.
So ACTUALLY Scully, I was encouraging people to research not react.
