Critical Times Hard to deal with??
by BluesBrother infor many decades the watchtower has hammered home the message of 2 timothy 3.1 - 7 .
but know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.
2 for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of god, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

Is interpretation of dreams divination?
by dmouse ini've just watched the old 'joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat' on dvd and i'm a bit confused.. basically, what is the societies viewpoint, and more importantly, the scriptural viewpoint, on interpreting dreams - or using them to predict future events?.
i'm sure the society would look down on anyone saying he had dreams that came true.
yet the bible is full of such instances.

PHILIP K. DICK and parables of the WTBCS
by hamsterbait inseveral of this writer's stories are almost parables describing how the wt controls and twists reality.. there is one about a machine that sits in the home and warns people they are having the wrong thoughts and ideas.
if you don't stop it kills you.. i especially love the world where nothing is as it seems, and the people are rescued by an empty space ship that eats them.. any story by him that you think does the same?.

da vs df
by BlackSwan of Memphis inthrough conversations with other exjw's i am finding a discrepancy.. in some cases when a person disassociates him or her self from the org, the family views it as not being as bad as if they had been disfellowshipped.. in other cases it is the complete opposite.. what's the deal??

JW funerals
by bally ini'm currently doing a major work for my final year of high school on funeral music and how religion impacts upon it.
specifically, in one part of the work i intended to focus on those religions who have guidelines about what should and should not be played at funerals.
when i was reading through surveys i handed out, one young girl who is a jehovah's witness mentioned that there are certain guidelines for the music played at funerals, but she didn't expand on what.

Could this be a possibility...?
by sinis infunny how all religions share very similiar things - flood, giants, battle between gods, etc.
could basic truths be hidden in the records of the ancients, either through the bible, etc.?
could earth have been visited by a race who who helped or enslaved man, who in turn recorded these in glyphs, and ancient texts - and are the best attempts the authors could make to make sense of an advanced technology?
