Sounds like the last 3 yrs of my marriage. I could never get my ex to understand or listen to the opposite viewpoint. ....maybe leaving her a copy of Crisis Of Conscience somewhere she can read privately....who knows. I ended up moving out and getting access to my child in court. ( JOINT custody!!!!)

Just my 2 Cents.......Go ahead and FLAME AWAY.....I won't reply
by scrapmama777 in"inciting hatred on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or other personal characteristic.".
is this seriously one of the forum's rules to follow?
how can that be so when this whole forum is based on inciting hatred towards one religion.....jehovah's witnesses.......wow this is funny!

Hey there..i dont really post all that much but i do come on from time to time and I read your post. I cant agree with you more because you remind me of the type of JWs my parents and brothers are...pretty secure and happy and nothing is wrong in their world. All is well. Everything is exactly as it should be. There are JWs that cant help but question things and those that make up for all that by adjusting to the life and living it quit happily. Instead of a "my relgion right or wrong" attitude, you can allow yourself the benefit of a certain amount of freedom within the group. But when pressed eventually you fall into line.
The more you read on here the more it will make you queston your faith. Thats extemely dangerous. At the moment you have your zeal in tact. Blissfully ignorant of many things. Do you really want to lose what you have right now?
Personally I do not regret leaving the organization because I just felt let down in the honesty department. But my son is still in. There are times i wish i never left just so i could be with him. I have no problem in giving up my life for him if need be, but im the bad guy and im shunned, and very possibly will never see him again. So think long and hard and plan your moves WISELY always thinking before you speak. Eventually you may find that you can live quite happily knowing any hypocrisy you uncover OR you may have a crisis of conscience.

Hi. Just popping in with an observation Id like to share and any feedback Thanx.
by chrisjoel ini really havent been on here in a while, but recently a coworker, who i respect, told me of an "incident" that happened that i really cant explain..so for the hel lof it ..thought id share :).
for clarity here some background on my friend/coworker:he is a siek indian, the type that wear a turbin/bushy beard, very sensitive as to being "brown" in an agressive way ie: not the type to take any crap from anyone..., very smart, anyways he is about to get married now, but, 3 yrs ago in his dorm room at the university of windsor in ont canada his roommate left for the evening.
he takes a shower, then goes to the mirror to shave and says from the corner of his eye he sees a flash of "something" go by him very quckly/ faintly.

Are you kidding Stonewall! Dont you think i drilled him left right and center with questions like that one? Yeah damm right I DID! Ive yet to see a ghost...so ..when it was right behind him i asked him "well why didnt you at least jab it with your elbow while u ran out to see if it was a solid object " (of course he said he was petrified by that point)..and I think the exact same thing If I saw a ghost the first tihing id do is say GO ahead and scare the crap otta me but first tell me..ahmm Have you seen God yet? l....yeah any question that pops outta my mind! But this guy saw a black person he says as solid a figure as Me so, who knows why it was a black guy, but he said it was a black guy so what?
He did go on to say other stuff i just abbreviated the experience for sharing here but ....(ahhaaaaa Ducks 1 Redwings 0 ..Grrrrr) back to what i was saying , he told me when he shared this with his parents back home his parents were not surprised and told him they had also had such experiences ...so go figure...all i know is that he is a stand up guy..so....

Thanks Old Flame for the invitation.
I think being away from JWs and even xjws makes me more open, less judgemental- everything you experience Doesnt somehow revolve around things you once believed- so maybe Im just less cynical than most here. At the very least I think HE believes what he saw and at best I would say I have no reason to doubt the guy so yeah I believe him ..anyways i didnt come on here for anything other than to share this which i think is pretty damn amazing.

Hi to everyone. I really havent been on here in a while, but recently a coworker, who i respect, told me of an "incident" that happened that I really cant explain..so for the hel lof it ..thought id share :)
He dismisses it as "whatever". He continues shaving and in the mirror he sees a black man leaning against a the wall and quickly turns around and nothing is there. He is freaked out. So not knowing what to do he continues shaving a a few seconds later sees in the mirror, the same black man sitting on his bed. He turns around and "it" is no longer there. Freaked out even more he hastens to finish shaving BUT a few seconds later the "person" is standing RIGHT BEHIND HIM inches away from his face....HE BOLTs out the door completely freaked out and doesnt go back in until his roomate gets home...He says the experience messed him up for 2 yrs.
He continued to have strange things happen like when both roomates left the room and came back later the air conditioner would be turned off and dishes moved around in the cabinet to where they werent supposed to be...
So how do we account for such strange experiences ppl have. I had continued to cling to the belief that when u die u die thats it...but some things just baffle me and just though id throw this out here for any responses. Thanks.

Defence of watchtower society Links
by reniaa ini thought long and hard before making this thread, that many will not agree with it but i think there needs to be balance and people to realise there are alternate viewpoints out there on many of these subjects, the ones that are most spoke about on this forum.
i was recently sent a full message containing mary's book and these links give the rebuttal to many of her points.
those that are still open-minded enough feel free to look over them even if in the end you still don't agree at least you have heard both the defence as well as the attack as they are on the internet.

www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/scans/lettertoenquiry.html
The letter says they had to join in order to have continued access and nothing contained anything that conflicted with their religious beliefs.
WHAT??...
If every JW used this reasoning then ..humm for example..IF i lived close to a YMCA and had been using thier swimming pool for years for my health....then one day someone said you must now join and become a member of the YMCA in order to continue to use the pool THEN WHAT??
the same logic could be used many ways ...but this shows that when it suits the Society " its all good" but when it suits the individual member then Watch OUT!!! your headed for trouble.
