In the book "Aid to bible Understanding" under the heading Jehovah... it goes into detail as to why J W~s stay with the pronunciation Jehovah over any other name, Yahweh etc.and the bottom line was, Jehovah was more commonly used, and people in general were more familiar with that name. They also pointed out that Jesus is not the correct pronunciation for the son of God but it is the anglicized pronunciation, and the important thing is not the literal pronunciation ,but who was identified by that name.... Though isn`t that inconsistent of them ? you may ask ? They have no problem changing any, and everything else, when new light is revealed, but the name, whom they put so much importance to,doesn`t seem to matter, when new light shows Yahweh as being more accurate.
I attended a funeral of a work colleague at a `Uniting Church` service some years back to a packed congregation, and one of the hymns was titled with Jehovah`s name, and repeated many times during the hymn sung by all in attendance.
