My daughter was the same way. She was basically a slob when it came to our house. She was pretty good up untill about 13. She drove my wife nuts about it. She could take the longest showers I have ever seen anybody take, kept thinking she would turn into a prune. She was runing our bathroom with all the water, so I told my wife that we would just live with it untill she moved out, which was seven years later. I decided that when she was gone I would remodel which I Did. Kept on good terms with her all that time because I have seen too many problems arguing with your kids. Anyway she got married to a nice guy with a good job. She is now 37 years old, and the real kicker is she keeps an obsesivly clean home, is a very hard worker and we get along great. Go figure huh? I think it is a hormonal thing, but what do I know.

Put some pancake syrup into a small disposable dish, lid, etc., and place it somewhere you would prefer that they would go. You still have to remove any exposed foods. This has always worked for me. I was taught this from a pest exterminator friend of mine . If it works for you then at least you aren't poisioning anything.

Jesus Christ vs. the "Faithful and Discreet Slave"

most, if not virtually all jws i know give more praise to the fds(governing body) than they do jesus christ.
it can even make you sick sometimes to hear the fds being mentioned so much.

I have heard many JWS call born againers as Jesus freaks, can you imagine, calling some one who uses the name of Jesus as a Jesus freak. I guess JWS could be called Faithful and Discreet Slave freaks.

Bethelites - humbler than thou!

have you ever noticed that when a lot of young men return from bethel they have this air of superiority with them?
i've seen people almost literally worship the ground they walk on.

I have known many bethelites over my many years. They seem to go two ways, arrogant know it alls, or they become mental basket cases. Two examples of many, P.O. who is a holier than thou, thinks his kids are the greatest thing on earth, and host all visiting dignitaries like he is god himself, literally walks around with his nose in the air, the other former bethelite left his congregation as somewhat normal person came back somewhat haughty but became a mental case unable to deal with normal life. My viewpoint was always that bethel was not for everyone, in fact almost no one. Most that came back were changed to a bad personality. You never have to guess who was a bethelite because they will be sure to let you know.

If that were true, which the society admits happened before and including the destruction of Jerusalem, how could there be another one? They talk about it all the time but I have never seen any explanation for it. This may have been discussed before but I haven't seem to have come across it yet.

That talk was so looney, that it's actually hard to comment on it. What it boils down to, is another thing like the generation thing, making everything open ended. JWS will just let this go in one ear and out the other as usual. I think bethel is replacing very old loonies withn younger even goofier loonies. If there was such as thing as talking to the dead , then surely they must be communicating with Rutherford because he was the king of loonies.

I could never bring myself to say 'field service', what the heck is that anyway. Going from door to door is about the stupidest thing there is. I started going out when I was kid about 6 years old that I can remember. My mom probably took me out before that. Of the thousands of doors I have been to, I only brought one family into the 'truth', and that was my cousin. Just think of the thousands of people I ticked off. How in the heck is that preaching the good news. The few times I did go out just before not going at all, was just a big joke . You go with someone who has a territory, but that is for everyone else but himself, then you go on phony 'calls' or not at homes at the same time each saturday, that pretty well ensures that you dont talk to anyone. If I ever did place any literature I would just give it to them, because that way you got rid of it so it didn't stack up at my house. Thats another thing, all the blasted literature, Jesus its like the stuff grows on its on. My wife must think the stuff is sacred or something, for christ sake throw some of this crap away. And that is another thing, the society might print millions of this crap, but who reads it. I wish there was a way to find out how many people actually read it, even the witnesses dont read it, they have never got a clue what is in the magazines. And another thing about pioneers, you know how you can tell a pioneer, they tell you so. Just felt like getting some of that off my mind.

A person has to do what he has to do. In my case I do go with my wife to the meetings. Been doing it for a few years even after I mentally removed myself. I use the WTC bull, I'm in the world but not a part of it. I am able to occupy myself with other things. Occasionaly I catch a point and write it down for my wife, for instance when a scripture does not have anything to do with what is being said. Over time I have been able to make some headway with my wife. Believe me, at first it was hard, because sometimes I wanted to just stand up and scream , "that is big bunch of crap." People who know me know that I can be very outspoken at times, which has made my life difficult more than I can count. I had to get a lot older before I realize you can talk to people better if you don't tick them off. Took me along time to realize my wife won't talk to me when she is ticked off at me. I never claimed to be overly smart. Patience was never one of my virtues, but age is taking care of that. As far as field service, I just put my time in for talking to my wife. I have been doing this for years now, and have not had any problems. One good thing is occasionaly I am able to make a comment at the bookstudy . For instance the Society not knowing whether the Alpha and Omega is either Jesus or Jehovah in the Revelation book, got a big kick out of that. Even quoted other publications with the same problem. It got so quite I thought everyone died of a heartattack.

granted.......some of these beliefs have gone by the wayside because of bud light.... i mean new light!

Whether JWS realize it or not, they are superstious. Superstition is the a belief or beliefs justified by neither evidence or reason nor by any religious canon. In the sixties , literature came out about demon possesion etc., and of course JWS made an even bigger deal out it. They would not shop in secondhand stores, would not take items from some individuals, including fellow JWS. Some thought their homes were haunted and so on. It was the craziest thing I had seen. An example of this was my brother and sister in law. They thought their house was haunted and kept comming over to my house bothering me. Finally I borrowed their key, went into their attic an found a piece of wood that was blowing back and forth from the wind blowing through their attic vent. This kind of bull was common among the JWS I knew. The society uses everything they can to get people in this mindset. That is why you can't reason with them, they think you are posessed, go figure.

My latest JW experience.
by Abandoned ini was assigned the dining room this morning at work and i had a jw at the first booth.
i recognized her by her bible made larger because of the included reasoning book.
i got a kick out of recognizing her in this way.

Actually "field service" is a good thing when you think about it. You tick off thousands of people at thier door for maybe one who might listen to you. I did this crap for nearly 50 years. It was basically the only way JWS get any human association, you know the coffee breaks and gossip etc. I always told everybody that I hated field service and meetings and assemblies. They would just feel sorry for me and never said much of anything else, and I am still around "physically". For those who want to go to meetings etc. for sake of family or whatever, just stay under the radar and dont cause any problems for the rest of the dummies. Dont ask for any of their help. Put down an hour every month for your time report. You should be able to do this, because it is theocratic warfare on your part. Some people need to stay in touch with what is going on inside. Eventually you may be able to give the actual truth to someone. As far as myself , no one wants to bother with me , I set at the hall with my wife and either read my Kings James bible, sleep, draw or use the time for rest. My wife does not have to go alone, it makes her happy, and I am able to make a few points along the way.
