Mentally Diseased - is it partly our fault that we got this label?
by cappytan ini was thinking about this the other day.. a common way for apostates to "fade" is to pretend to have depression or anxiety problems.. is it possible, that when apostates become known, the elders report to the society that said person was undergoing mental health problems?
i can see a scenario where the society then took those statistics that were reported and just decided, "well, it looks like the only ones leaving are those with mental diseases.".
oh, and not to mention the subliminal messages conspiracy theorists.

It's not our fault in the LEAST. It's the fault of an organization that controls it's members through fear and guilt and the WT leaders imputing wrong motives to ANYBODY exiting the organization. WT leaders are the ones who make JW members crazy by their strict, relentless, and cruel, inhumane rules. It's like they keep JW's in cages like zoos keep animals in cages- but the only difference is WT leaders keep JW's in mental cages where they do not even know how to live in the real world. To fault the members for the abuse the WT leaders hand out is rather shallow thinking -

Teddy Hero Worship Continues -- Sept 15 Study Edition Bio on Melita Jaracz
by LostGeneration invery weird article, you can read it here if you can tolerate such nonsense:.
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20150915/melita-jaracz-blessing-in-life/.
basically teddy was a super, duper spiritual giant who went undercover behind the iron curtain, sorta james bond like.

The quote : " Nice to see the 1950's photo of her posing with the awards she got for her skills at hair styling ".
With that thought in mind this next experience of mine is true : I was 10 years old and Jaracz and his wife Melita would stay at my mom and dad's house as my dad was the coordinator for the District Conventions and Circuit assemblies at the time, plus City Overseer. Every time they visited ( which was several times ) Melita always wanted to wash my hair even though I'm this 10 yr.old boy who didn't WANT his hair washed !
I would go talk to my mom privately and say " MOM ! I do NOT want this lady washing my hair as she scrubs my head so hard she takes my scalp off ! " My mom would just say, " Oh don't worry little Flipper she's just doing an act of love for you ! She's a hairdresser don't you know by trade ? She does it for a living . " I felt like telling my mom, " Look - If she's a damn hairdessser then I'm a Ninja soldier, and if she rubs my scalp any HARDER , I'm gonna go Ninja soldier on HER ! "
Seriously, it really DID hurt, I thought I'd have permanent scalp burn after this lady washed my head before cutting my hair. Fortunately, my hair grew out and I survived the experience. I can only imagine that being married to Ted Jaracz kind of made her take out her aggressions in bizarre ways. Who knows ? All she was - was another mind controlled cult member who was frustrated- nothing more, nothing less - even IF she considered herself something special being hitched to a GB member. Another cult weirdo is all I could see. One who gave me " scalp burn "

Ever been on a "snipe hunt"?
by kairos inif you are a jw, that is.. "there's the kingdom over there!!
""armageddon is near""we're in the last of the last days""we will have three day conventions next year... jehovah willing""the work is speeding up""it's an invisible presence".
snipe hunt.

Good thread Kairos. Funny stuff . I actually WAS duped on a real snipe hunt when I was in my early 20's on a hiking trip in the woods with JW pioneers years ago who I pioneered with. It was pretty embarrassing. But hey, I don't take myself too seriously so I don't mind being the butt of a joke sometimes. LOL !
But I ended the WT or JW snipe hunt when I exited the organization back in 2003. Not going to be duped anymore by religious snipe hunts ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Was it worth it?
by John Aquila infor those of you who left family and friends and had to start over from scratch just to get out of the organization, was it worth it?.
.

Yes. It was SO worth it. To gain freedom of mind and to NOT be told what to believe or not believe in is priceless. I would make the same decision today as I did 12 years ago to just walk away from it cold turkey. And from this vantage point in my life as an inactive ex-JW who is not DFed- I can still have hope to eventually get one or both of my adult daughters out of the JW cult - with time and patience. I have all the time in the world now to do it right , correctly, and with patience -

My Real Calling / Mission In Life Is Here on J-W.com
by smiddy insometime during or after my conversion to jehovah witnesses 55 years ago , i felt it was my calling , duty , mission , to preach the word , and witness to as many people as i could about the watchtower`s interpretation of the bible that i believed was the truth.. and may i presume i am not alone there .i feel many if not all would have had similar thoughts.. without being presumptuous i think i have found my real calling in life , in doing what little i can to add my 2 cents worth in exposing this religion for what a fraud it actually is ,especially to the newbies , because most of us here have already found ttatt .. so witnessing to the truth about jehovah`s witnesses on this board , gives me much more pleasure than i ever had witnessing for the watchtower organization.
and this site / board has enabled me to do that , thank you simon ,ang, and company.. smiddy.

SMIDDY- I agree with you. It's one of the many missions in life that I'm on as well. To wake people the hell up ! I have a lot of interests I'm actively involved with in my life- but I feel that not only myself- but MANY of us here can and have made an impact on people's lives by exposing the real TTATT on Simon's board here. People have exited the dangerous mind control cult Jehovah's Witnesses once they start reading real information exposing WT Society injustices . We can all have a part in that if we desire to. I feel we all have accomplished more here on this board than we ever did wasting time knocking on doors telling people about a fantasy " paradise " that doesn't exist. LOL -

"We can't even talk with you anymore! You react very abruptly"
by stuckinarut2 inso that was the line used by an elder the other day to me!.
he implied that i react badly when spoken to by the elders.. i corrected him and said: "no, i'm always happy to have a conversation.
but what you seem to be implying is that unless i sit and accept and take everything you say, then i am being defensive?
-

STUCKINARUT- I think you are doing a very good job based on your situation. There is no " one way " to exit this JW cult. Some of us exited " cold turkey " stopped immediately like I did - and I imagine it's part of what what led to it taking years and years for me to see my 28 year old daughter again . That being said I have no regrets for stopping that way as my mind has been a lot more clear these last 12 years without WT indoctrination being pounded into my brain from the platform.
But some folks, perhaps like yourself who still HAVE believing JW spouses may have to take it slower and more gradual in exiting the cult or their marriages will go down the tubes in a very fast way. You are doing a good job Stuckinarut . You have the right and freedom of mind to voice your opinions to elders- I just suggest that you make sure that the elders don't corner your wife in a back room trying to pit her against you without you knowing. THAT is a scenario that has played out over the years in many of these incidents of one or the other marriage mate trying to escape the cult. So just keep your eyes open. You'll do fine. Stay smart like you are, tell your wife that you love her and in time your unconditional love to her will triumph over this criminal organization. Hang in there, we are here as a support to you, O.K. ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Is going clear worth watching?
by purrpurr ini've been trying to wade through all two and a half hours of going clear.
thus far it seems to not criticize scientology to much?.
thoughts?
-
flipper
PURRPURR- Are you sure that you watched the same " Going Clear " that I or many others watched ? It doesn't criticize Scientology ? I thought it totally exposed Scientology as it told of the leader David Miscavige's beatings of members and how he sent goons out to " discipline " and isolate Scientology members who " misbehaved ". Like the woman who had to scrub toilet seats with a toothbrush as discipline, or the man who had to mop restroom floors with his tongue.
Is it worth watching ? Hell yes it's worth watching as it exposes the workings of a dangerous mind control cult ! There are many high level actors and actresses on " Going Clear " who escaped Scientology and they explain how they and others were abused. I don't think the program went " light " on Scientology at all ! I think that maybe you need to watch the program again to see what you might have missed

Govening Body and JWN
by John Aquila indo you think any members of the governing body visit this site-jwn regularly?.
how about the heavies in the organization, like the writers, lawyers, and other who work at headquarters?.
for all we know john aquila could be a member of the gb..

Some upper level ex scientology people said that there was always a team monitoring oppositional (defector) websites. Some of the monitors always ended up defecting but the organization figured losing a few was well worth the information they got. The monitors themselves are disposable - I guess their salvation isn't all that important to the grand poobahs....
Read up on scientology and you'll see that they are very similar to the watchtower. They are kind of like JWs on steroids and methamphetamines.
