Woke up this morning to the realization that the future is now

as the title of the thread says, i woke up this morning realizing more than ever that we should, each and every one of us, live for today and what we can accomplish today, rather than constantly looking toward the future.. i'm not implying we shouldn't make plans, plans are healthy and advisable, especially if you have healthy commitments.. but i realized the reason why nothing in my life ever seems to get done, is because i put things off, and look ahead 10 years down the line, then a few days later realize how much work needs to be put into that said task, then i don't do anything.

and so the cycle seems to repeat itself.. what i think i'm trying to say is that worthwhile endeavors that have a reward at the end, but take many years to get there, need to be challenged one day at a time.

i now understand that to get to where we want to be 10 years down the line, we need to focus on today and the hard work that needs to be out into a task one day at a time.

Stop WT society information control by giving access to REAL information

of course we all know that many ex-jw's are doing this online constantly and that's a good thing.

whether by you tubes, websites, blogs, etc.

the worldwide community of ex-jw's has been and will continue to be proactive in putting out real information to counteract and offset the lies and fantasy propaganda put out by the wt society.

do you think it is possible that the g.b.is deliberately giving out mis-information to confuse either apostates or media that might be investigating them for one reason or another ?

Yes, I agree that WT leaders use misinformation to deceive intentionally. Just look at how they deceive regarding their child abuse policies to the public. Especially to the media They try to appear that they are responsible regarding child abuse. But nothing is further from the truth. A person could find numerous other areas where the WT Society intentionally deceives and it's all to meet their agenda of being a financially wealthy organization. Bottom line

finally after five years i have finally shut the door very firmly on the witnesses.

i have had this "sister" calling for over the last six months clearly trying to reactivate me,but never mentioning the reason why me and my family left the forfar congregation two years ago.

it was always any subject but the " elephant in the room" well today was the finale.

GB says, "Our way of worship will soon be altered."

my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.

we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

" The brother said that the GB want us all to know that soon , VERY SOON our way of worship will be altered by this wicked world. "

Translation : " Our financial tits are in the wringer with all of these child abuse lawsuits coming at us from Satan's wicked world. One reason we need volunteers to serve as attorneys in our legal department. We want you brothers and sisters to know that if WE the GB get thrown into prison due to persecution because of aiding and abetting child molesters or financial dishonesty - please realize it's a ploy from Satan to deceive you and that we are REALLY being persecuted for righteousness's sake. I can see some sort of excuses like this being made in all seriousness without the GB blinking an eye

received revealing "witness" in parking lot

a few weeks ago i was working out of my home state and was in a grocery store parking lot when i received my first jw witness since leaving jwdom.

a youngish-looking lady was sitting in an suv parked next to my car and i was about to get in my car to leave.

she opened the door and asked whether she could give me something to read (had a tract in her hand)..

Magnum- Now you have ANOTHER kind of hope. You can live your life with freedom of mind - unencumbered by the false promises and lies that the WT Society controlled us with through fear and guilt. You have the hope of living out the rest of your life pursuing hobbies, interests, dreams, and careers in reality that you may not have been allowed to pursue had you remained in a mind control cult. You have the hope of living your life with no fear of an imaginary Armageddon and can control your own destiny instead of 8 old farts controlling it from WT headquarters. I'd say- I like your chances pretty good ! You DO have hope !

More education bashing in April 2015 simplified watchtower

elders in wealthy lands may find it difficult to encourage baptized brothers in their 20s or 30s to do more in the congregation.

ex- perienced elders in about 20 lands told us why they believe that some young brothers do not do more in the congregation.

most of them said that when some brothers were young, their parents did not encour- age them to set goals in jehovahs ser- vice.

I hope JW parents keep encouraging their minor children to get a higher education as it will help them develop critical thinking skills that they need to not only survive financially- but to escape the clutches of a criminal organization like the WT Society produces in Jehovah's Witnesses

The Fear mongering of this weeks WT study!

oh my word it is full of fear inducing tactics....doom and gloom outlooks.... anxiety inducing methods to develop absolute control over witnesses and cripple them in any attempt to think for themselves!.

(notice i am saying "themselves" rather than "ourselves"?!

Oh brother. How does this elder know that the electrical grid will even be working ? If the grid goes down, there ain't gonna be NO communication from the WT alleged " mother ship ". No computers, no nothing. The ignorance that WT leaders spreads into these people's minds is beyond unbelievable. And the fear they spread as well

i was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.

of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.

i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

JAMES- I understand completely what you're going through. I was born and raised in a high profile JW family where my dad was city overseer for 35 years and my brother was a Bethelite elder for 8 years and longtime elder. I exited the Witnesses over 11 years ago at age 44 . I was a Ministerial servant but understand the pressures that you went through in expectations of how we were supposed to " advance " or live up to the WT alleged " standards ". Which we find out was just crap all along.

You are among friends here. Once we start looking into what is REAL in this world believe me it was scarier INSIDE the WT organization. The world is much kinder to us on the outside than we were led to believe. Lots of good folks here on the board can attest to that. We are here as a support to you and your wife. On announcing the presence of a sexual predator

there's a lot of talk on here about changes the society must make, one of them being the announcing of sexual predators in the congregation.

i agree.

but do any other organizations do the same?

Indeed I agree that the WT Society definitely drops the ball of accountability and responsibility regarding informing parents in the congregations about pedophiles. I agree that elders should be instructed to inform parents of children by telephone or private communication to ALL parents of minor children within congregations. AND I agree that parents should be encouraged to check out Megan's Law in each of their localities to see WHO the registered sex offenders are in order to protect children.

If the WT Society did these 2 things it would be a step in the right direction. Oh yes, one more thing- make it mandatory for elders to report child abuse to police authorities FIRST - before reporting it to the WT legal department
