a bradford man's sex offence against a little girl was kept quiet for 23 years because elders of the jehovah's witnesses church persuaded her parents not to report him, a court was told.. robert lee's crime in the forest of dean was not revealed until the victim had grown up and went to the police, gloucester crown court heard on friday.. .

both the victim's family and lee were jehovah's witnesses at that time, said prosecutor kerry barker.. he told the court that having avoided justice, lee, formerly of coleford, but now of alexandra road, bradford, went on to commit further child sex offences in 2008 and 2016.. lee, who used the surname howarth at that time, admitted indecent assault of the girl in march 1995 in coleford when he was aged just 17.. sentencing lee to two years jail suspended for two years and ordering him to sign the sex offender register for 10 years judge ian lawrie qc said he was 'concerned' at the church's advice to the mother not to report him.. he also placed lee under a 10 year sexual harm prevention order.. “i've raised concerns about how this came to the attention of your church authorities and was not reported.

It's horrific that this story can be repeated thousands of times across our world- and nothing ever gets done about it within the WT organization. Oh WT leaders will put on a good show on their website or social media or T.V. news - but bottom line is even right now , here in 2018 WT Society STILL instructs elders to report any child abuse cases in the congregation to WT legal department first - NOT to the police authorities. And then elders are instructed to tell child abuse victims and their families that THEY THEMSELVES are allowed to report to police child abuse crimes - but elders do NOT proactively report it themselves to police.

It's a blatant cover up, pure and simple to prevent bad PR in the media & prevent even more financially damaging lawsuits from occurring. But if WT leaders were realistic ( which they aren't ) they'd realize that this hiding child abuse in the closet crap is just going to make them even more liable in future years. More & more of these cases are going to come spilling forward costing WT Society millions & millions of $$$$. If they cannot see that, then the WT leaders are either as dumb as a rock or stubborn as mules wanting to sit in their own shit and not budge. Or a combination of both. I feel no empathy for WT leaders whatsoever. Just empathy for these thousands of child abuse victims within the JW organization. There is no justice for them.Sadly

TERRY- Wow. That is a powerful experience about your buddy's JW girlfriend. Totally true, the seed of information was planted- whether she liked it or disagreed with it or not- she still couldn't unhear what she heard. She was going through extreme cognizant dissonance. But - that's a good thing. The only way any JW will ever get out of this cult is to experience initial cognizant dissonance, and then you hope the scales fall from their eyes and the blinders come off with time.

I thought this show was excellent. Very well done . My wife and I watched it together. And Barbara and Romy did a fantastic job of exposing this evil cult for what it is- a criminal organization. I felt so bad for Romy, what a tragic story that's been repeated thousands, if not hundred of thousands of times across the world inside this WT organization.

WT Society and it's leaders are starting to get exposed more and more for their unethical, lawless behavior and all I can say is - it's about fucking time. Bring it on. Looking forward to Leah Remini's exposure of them as well

Talked to a JW in the park

so in my lunch break at work today i walked in the park, just chilling out when a woman approached and offered me a leaflet.

didn't have to read it i knew straight away who she was.. me: my family are involved with jws.

the new world was supposed to come in the mid-seventies but it didn't.

XANTHIPPE- That was done to perfection ! Excellent job my friend ! You really appealed to this person's emotion by dwelling on family and I'm quite sure you caused this JW a whole lot of cognizant dissonance ! And that's a good thing. You could tell by the way this person was becoming squeamish and uncomfortable towards the end of your conversation. She was understanding the points you were making and actually using her mind to think for once in her life ,another really good thing.

And this happened due to your great strategy ! Keep up the great work of helping people to think - no matter who they are. Take care, keep on keeping on, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

they reduced printing of mags.

they drastically reduced the number of pieces of printed paper that members would "place" in people's hands in various ways, the biggest one being that they put them on a cart and don't encourage people to take them.they cut d.o.

I'm with Jeff T and others on this, they might start charging access to their website.

And in the same vein as my buddy JRK, they might just start charging people to go on tours at Bethel in Warwick or charging people on tours to see their whole assortment of facilities there. As JRK alluded to kind of like amusement parks like Disneyland or Disneyworld charge. That would rake in a lot of money.

Also I love JRK's statement, " Could they have a rubber faced robot talk like Steve Lett " ?

Wouldn't that be a hoot ! lol. You could make a " house of horrors " type exhibit including Lett, and include C.T. Russell with his freaky Miracle Wheat show and Judge Rutherford's scowling mug all in the same exhibit ! Have people ride through in the dark and these guys pop up and scare everybody ! LOL. Maybe a scary figure of Ted Jaracz popping up as well screaming out " the organization comes first, the organization comes first " !

I can't help myself. I sometimes let my imagination run wild.

My wife & I saw it on Lifetime Movie channel last night . Extremely well done, Barbara was great, thanks for all of your help Barbara ! And it really exposed the JW cult for being hateful, uncaring, and inhumane. More shows like this need to keep coming out to expose the criminality of this evil cult. I felt so sorry for this lady abuse victim on the show- she definitely was having a first hand look at the callousness of the WT Society when she tried to drop her dissassociation letter off at Warwick. The response she received from WT reps was certainly predictable- yet disgusting and callous nonetheless. Good thread, thanks for posting this

A & E documentary - family fall-out

long story short, we have not seen hubbys non identical twin nephews (jeremey and jerome) since we gave the middle finger to the jw's 7 or 8 years ago.

we last saw our nephews when they were 9 or 10ish.

I'm so glad these boys have their loving aunt & uncle to care for them. Wow ! This is a heavy experience indeed. Just when you think you've heard the worst stories possible coming out of this JW cult- you hear even more horror stories that get worse . I'm glad the world is starting to hear more of these stories. People need to be informed

TALLON- Thanks for the link to this Reddit experience of the JW boys being kicked out by their parents. I posted a comment on that thread over on Reddit. This has happened thousands of times through the years by self righteous, uncaring JW parents all over the world. And it's disgusting. This JW cult and WT Society ROB JW parents of any empathy, sympathy, decency and causes parents to actually treat their exiting JW children inhumanely to the extreme.

I experienced this with my own son when my JW ex-wife kicked my son out of her house at age 18 because he didn't want to attend meetings anymore. He called me up sobbing that his mom had kicked him out and he asked if he could come live with me. I told him " of course son ! I don't care what religion you are you're my son , I love you !"

So he came to live with me and we cried together as he fell into my arms sobbing. It was one of the most emotionally charged experiences my son and I ever experienced. It traumatizes exiting JW children for years because they feel one parent doesn't love them anymore. Essentially the JW parent chooses the WT Society & JW cult - over the child. My son lived with me the next few years until Mrs. Flipper & I got married and he had a roomate and girlfriend by then who supported him as well. But we have stayed close all these years and are like blood brothers, we hike together in the mountains , play music together- and we both know we will ALWAYS have each others back in dealing with JW relatives.

I am so glad that A&E , Leah Remini, and other mainstream shows are exposing this freaking cult for what it is - a criminal organization that breaks up families. It's disgusting. The pain is very, very real and very , very sad. We need to support anybody- young or old who exit this dangerous cult. Especially the young who get put out on the street by sick, disgusting excuses of parents who need their parent cards taken away
