PALE EMPEROR- Great thread. Thanks for posting it. Very interesting quotes. I agree- we smell fear within the leadership of the WT Society now for sure.

This quote I thought was particularly revealing and exposing - " Do not be " quickly shaken from your reason " when faced with what appear to be damaging attacks by apostates or other such deceivers of the mind - HOWEVER PLAUSIBLE THEIR CHARGES MAY SEEM. " And that's the catch phrase here- WT Society is ADMITTING ever so slightly that some of these negative charges against them may seem to be valid, accurate, may seem to be plausible or even make sense - but then they tell JW's to turn off their minds and dismiss it as a " deception " .

These are thought stopping techniques that all mind control cults use to get their members to DISOWN their own minds and reasoning - then hand their mind over to the WT Society on a silver platter. And of course this WT article blames it on " Satan " if any JW's HAVE doubts about these negative charges brought against WT leaders - then JW's start doubting their own reasoning thinking- " oh my god, Satan is making me have these doubts and lack of trust in the GB ! " It's such an evil and insidious way of controlling and manipulating JW people it's disgusting. Yet unfortunately it works on those whose brains are turned off.

Stay tuned- I feel we will see more fear mongering from WT leaders this summer at these District conventions. The fear is amping up indeed

Rest in Peace Floyd Kite . He was just as deluded as the rest of them- just a lot nicer than the rest of them. A real person. I met him when I was a teenager in the 1970's , He really did push the 1975 thing. I wonder what he was thinking right before he died at age 90 in 2017 ? Still- I feel sorry for him and older JW's like my dad who wasted 60 to 70 years of their lives on un unreality of imaginary everlasting life promised by the WT Society. So many wasted lives. Very sad. Sleep well Floyd, I did enjoy your sense of humor, you were a good guy as far as JW's go. Sincerely. Mr. Flipper

Me and my wife watched all of Leah's shows- the entire series. And we saw the Bill Maher interview. And you are correct. If a person just substitutes " Jehovah's Witnesses " where " Scientology " is mentioned it's the same horrific damage that's done to cult members. After being out of the JW's for almost 14 years- I not only got angered by the abuse done within Scientology- but I cried tears of sadness for the interviewed ex-Scientologists who lost family and friends due to shunning. The pain was VERY real on their faces and within them as their sorrow was evident in the tears that flowed. I cried right along with them as I watched - not only crying for what THEY have experienced in being shunned - but in what I've experienced personally, and continue to experience being virtually totally shunned by my adult daughters and not being allowed to see my year and a half old grandson. It hurts like hell- everyday. But I can only hope that my daughters eyes will open up someday. They are both entering their 30's now- and that's when I first started having my first stirrings of doubts. One can only hope. Everyone owes it to themselves to watch Leah Remini's series - very important- very educating

i remember when i first came on this site back in 2007 many of the threads talk about after you leave a cult you need to find your authentic personality.

i have found this takes a lot of effort.

Nice thread STILL TADD . Very good points you bring out there. Important, thanks for posting this. After almost 14 years being out myself and having been raised earlier in my life by a strict staunch elder dad who never complimented me or ever told me he loved me - I still occasionally struggle with the lack of self esteem somewhat- but my self esteem has gotten much stronger these past several years. I've actually stood up to my older JW family when I saw certain injustices being committed towards my JW mom when she was still alive.

For anybody here who recently exited out of the Jehovah's Witness cult- don't give up. In time you will find your authentic personality again that was buried by your JW personality. Be patient with yourself- it takes time and we need to be kind to ourselves because we were never shown true objective kindness inside the WT organization- there were always " conditions " on how much kindness was shown to us. The more we as EX-JW's educate ourself and read books that restore our self esteem, like books from Steve Hassan about how mind control works, psychology books, other self help books- we will eventually win this psychological war within ourselves- but it takes time, just have to keep on keeping on. I think Blondie makes a VERY important point on this thread - appearances are very deceiving. Some of my close friends are considered to be " hippies " due to having long hair in the music community out here in Northern California - which short haired main stream people would automatically label them as " druggies " or slovenly or " street " people or homeless. But they are nothing like that. They are some of the most honest, caring, empathetic sincere human beings around these parts.

Last night my wife and I attended a musical tribute to a 66 year old popular piano player who died recently of cancer and who performed at this open mike bar for years . So MANY musicians showed up to play songs in tribute to him ( myself included playing 1 song ) that it lasted for a good 3 hours and most of the performers were long haired and eccentric looking " hippies " who spoke and played music very kindly in tribute to our fallen musical friend Rowan. These are people who would always have your back.

In contrast - I've known plenty of what you'd call " clean cut " or " religious " people that would stab you in the back or backbite and gossip about their own friends, marriage mates, or siblings at the drop of a hat- yet they appear " respectable " or clean cut to society due to their haircuts- but are actually snakes inside who would not be fit to watch my dogs or cats.

So THAT is how you avoid pre-judging people - watch WHAT people do , not what they say entirely , HOW they act towards others in reality, not what they CLAIM they've done for other people. Then it becomes crystal clear in time if we keep our eyes open- who the users are, and who the giving, compassionate people are. Appearance, skin color, sexual persuasion, has NOTHING to do with how kind or empathetic a person is or how much character they possess. It's what's inside that counts. Some people are rotten to the core and get treated like " saints " in this world- some people are kind and compassionate and get disrespected and treated like shit- and that is when injustice happens. the only way to to stop it from detonating is to use a defibrillator or some device to send massive electric shocks to the body, thus short circuiting the deadly implant.

hunt's protege doesn't get the help she needed in time, and she dies.

One hell of a thread Jeff- thanks for posting it. I completely 100 % agree. Very well expressed. I was a born in JW and been out 13 years myself - but after my mom died in December it kicked in some anger / sadness feelings within me regarding how my still in JW relatives treated me and still treat me - even though my mom who was a JW was the only JW in my family who supported my decision to exit the Witnesses. So I got 3 sessions of grief counseling from a therapist a couple months after mom died- and it helped me immensely to help me see the silver lining of positivity in my life with my involvement with playing music and being on this support board with the give and take.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your mom and brother my friend. My deepest sympathies to you on your loss. You are so right- the JW cult messes our heads up in ways that many times - we don't even realize till years later when we experience a death of someone close or some other major event that triggers the former cult indoctrination. One reason why it's good to always keep pursuing freedom of mind and movement and try to experience happiness in our life and learn to love ourselves as our self esteem was assaulted by a criminal organization bent on breaking us. Some of us do break in time- but many of us survive and flourish. I lift my glass and raise a toast to everyone here for the latter outcome . Thanks again for posting this subject- it will help many folks on here that can relate. Take care buddy, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
