  I've read everyone's comments on here to our friend Doubtful- and I have to tell each of you how honored and thankful I feel to be on a board with all of you beautiful people showing this new poster care and empathy. Something we didn't receive much of in the JW organization. We have a really cool and compassionate community here on this board. I consider you all friends. Hope we might meet someday.

  DOUBTFUL 1799- Really enjoyed your opening thread and post ! Would love to see or hear how you feel about the kind reception you are receiving here. How are things going for you ?   Some years ago, elder talked bad things about me in field service.....

  i just thought about my old congregation where an elder met worldly married couple in field service some years ago.

  the couple knew me for years but we do not know each other very well and they mentioned my name to him and he started to talk bad things about me!

  IAMALLCOOL- Hey buddy, I empathize with you and feel you. If I thought about all the thousands of times my JW family and other former friends have talked bad about me in the past- it would drive me crazy dude. Best to try to move on from it and realize these JW assholes never were our friends and that THEY are the mind controlled deluded ones . Their minds are screwed up 6 ways from Sunday man . There is no rhyme or reason in what they do or how they speak. And the WT Society has robbed them of any real human compassion or empathy- translation : We won't be getting any sympathy cards from them soon. Cut your losses and move on is my advice.   ZEB- Thanks for posting this information. Very informative. I'll have to read it carefully all the way through. WT Society is being exposed for what it is- a criminal organization that protects criminals, dangerous ones at that.

  In the U.S. WT leaders are trying to skirt around any negative publicity of the child abuse crisis by settling these hundreds of WT child abuse cases with victims out of court- so as to avoid media exposure. One reason they have sold off Bethel properties and are selling off many kingdom halls to have the cash flow to settle out of court with gag orders being placed on child abuse victims. I'm sure they are attempting to put out child abuse fires worldwide right now. WT leaders don't want any more Candace Conti type situations dominating major news headlines.

  But WT can only put out these fires and try to hide it so long from the public- in time financially they'll run out of money trying to cover up their skeletons in the closet - and the skeletons will turn into live Zombies and come back and rip WT apart . WT leaders can only hide in the shadows so long. Just a matter of time, but it will take time for this to happen. I can hardly wait. Justice needs to be served against these WT leader bastards for the sake of children who have suffered

  The REAL news at the moment is at least in America thousands of constituents of our population are meeting in town halls across the United States speaking loudly about their grievances to their local Republican congressmen about their grave concerns regarding the Trump administration's damaging policies. These demonstrations aren't just happening in the streets people- folks are voicing very strong opinions . Having to actually chase down Republican congressmen to answer their questions or have dialogues with them. In some states - Republican congressmen are refusing to even meet at town halls with constituents - or not replying at all. Those that do show up to hear the public- are getting an earful.

  Meanwhile- back in the " world of Trump " we have his secretary of State Tillerson and others traveling to Mexico to " mend the fences " ( no pun intended ) with the Mexican president who Trump treated in an insulting way. Get used to Trump's cabinet in the next 4 years trying to put out fires across the planet that HE starts from his pie hole spewing out vitriolic, stupid shit.   after getting her info, she waited till i walked back to our car and punched the gas, hitting me.

  DOUBTFUL 1799- Welcome to the forum and freedom of mind and critical thinking ability. Actually - your story is very similar to many folks on this board. And that's a good thing as you can benefit from the wealth of experience from folks here on the board who have experienced an awakening as well after being trapped inside the JW organization.

  I was born and raised in the JW's and escaped over 13 years ago at age 44 . It's a long process of re-educating ourselves psychologically, emotionally, and physically to overcome mind control we received from the WT Society- but the ability to think for ourselves clearly once again without WT pollution clouding our minds is well worth the effort. If you get a chance to read all of Steve Hassan's books on cult mind control and how it infects people's minds- those books were a great help to me in exiting the Witnesses. His website is : www.freedomofmind.com. I highly recommend his books. It helps a person to understand HOW high control organizations like the Jehovah's Witnesses or Scientology are able to control our minds.   My opinion of the media is the same as put down in the constitution by our forefathers in the United States. There should be freedom of the press. In any country that promotes a democratic society- there should be freedom of the press. So people are allowed to see alternative views and then make informed decisions based on information.

  In Trumps world view - by saying that the press is " the enemy " - he's promoting a totalitarian, dictatorship type of view of the press - essentially saying any of the press which disagrees with him is considered " fake news " or " dangerous " - much like the way the WT Society tries to have information control on it's JW followers in not allowing them to have access to information that disagrees with WT leaders and their views.

  Trump is heading down a dangerous pathway I feel in trying to disempower the news media so his agenda ( whatever the hell that is, it changes from day to day ) can be met. But the way he verbally lambasts the U.S. allies- countries who have been our friends , yet at the same time seems to favor Putin in Russia - I wouldn't be surprised at all to see that Trump wants an eventual alliance with Russia to double up the power play on countries to get oil and totalitarian power. It's just too strange to see Trumps vice president trying to secure peaceful relations with Nato and Europe- while Trump seems to work in opposite directions.   Wasanelder- My god man ! That's crazy ! And shows how insane people are out there these days. ( Must have been a Trump supporter ) I wonder if she was hopped up on meth ? That area is well known to be a heavy " tweaker " area.

  So your hand was broken ? I hope your hand ends up being O.k. ! I'm so sorry to hear this. I've never been run down by a human nut job- in November of 2015 I was hit in the side by a freaking 250 lb. 6 point buck deer that damn near could have killed me at 60 MPH. If it had gone through my windshield- but it ran straight into my left front side near my car tire crashing the left front end and shattering the headlight. I got a $ 6,000 settlement and was able to fix the truck- was lucky I was not hurt at all.

  If you'd be guaranteed that the cops would put this freak away for awhile in jail- I'd press charges, but you never know how soon she'd be out again. Then if you see her in town again- no telling what she'd do next time. Something to think about. I would make sure you get the maximum insurance $$$ for not only your pain and suffering in the vehicle situation but the huge headache you'll have to go through in medical damage to your hand and possible rehab to get your hand fixed . Go for the jugular - you may have to get an attorney on top of the Insurance company - or instead of. I wish you the best.   Self Brainwashing

  so i would love to hear and make more comments here on how "self-brainwashing" is done in jehovah's witnesses and how it becomes a problem when trying to wake up our loved ones.leah remini was on bill maher's show on friday, feb. 17th.

  she had some great comments about things said on her series about scientology.

  one was how members are "self-brainwashing" because they spend some hours every day doing self-study.

  Great thread my friend, thanks for posting it. My wife and I watched this interview the other night , and I just watched it again on your you tube to remember some points. Really good interview.

  I feel the self brainwashing by JW's is done even if they never pre-study or underline any answers in their WT magazines. Just by BEING at and ATTENDING the meetings their minds get indoctrinated from the WT Society's " world view " of everything. For instance : If WT says inactive or dfed JW's are " dangerous" to them - then this message gets drilled into rank & file JW's neurotransmitters in their brain through fear indoctrination and it becomes not just a psychological type of mind control- but really a physiological type of mind control that will not leave a JW's brain until they are completely, totally away from meetings, service, commenting- the whole 9 yards. Until that happens- the WT indoctrination will remain within that person depending on how much either a greater extent with more WT exposure or a lesser extent if the exposure becomes minimal.

  The danger is that the WT Society CHANGES meanings of words - just like Scientology does. For example : The word " worldly " in the REAL world has a positive connotation denoting someone who is worldly wise or educated, informed, savvy, a person who has been around and isn't easily duped. In the WT world- the term " worldly " is looked at as negative - someone who is immoral, dangerous, Satan inspired, demonic, disapproved by God, someone who will turn a JW away from what they perceive as " the truth " . So- therefore the cultish , paranoid JW behavior is understandable with THAT kind of indoctrination. Which has no bearing in reality.

  Which makes it difficult to reach JW's because as Leah stated cult members are " under this spell of doing good for the world " . Which is exactly how the WT Society controls JW's - that they THINK they are " doing good " when in fact the reality is the message the WT Society wants them to spread actually divides, splits, and tears families apart into shreds until there is no united family at all. Same as the Scientologists. It's a fake message in which hopes promised- never get realized. Anyway- just some ideas and thoughts there, kind of how I see it having been born and raised in this crap since birth and exiting 14 years ago. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
