New, but needed to vent- thank you :-)
by Danni Jackson ini discovered your website this morning as i was trying to find some information about 'marking'.
you see a very close friend of mine was 'marked' earlier this week and as i know the ins and outs of the situation (as we are close friends) i disregarded the talk immediately as i know my friend is obviously having issues but is no way a 'danger' to anybody else's spiritual health.
basically they are dating a non-believer- hence the talk.

Danni- There is a lot of judgmental attitudes and hypocrisy within the Jehovah's Witness organization and you are just skimming the surface and seeing it for the first time. These attitudes start at the top with the governing body. Google on the Internet " Gilbert Campos Child abuse trial San Diego California " and you'll see how WT leaders have been hiding child abuse information from the courts and are being penalized by the courts for refusing to testify and supply needed child abuse information. You are sadly in a criminal organization and the sooner you research this and wake up to that fact- the sooner you'll be able to move on in your life and find real happiness. Take care, we're here as a support to you

Dubstepped- Hang in there buddy. I was born and raised in the JW's got out 13 years ago in 2003 at age 44 finally. It's not an easy process moving on, but what you're feeling is totally normal for what we all went through with the mind control and indoctrination that the WT Society drilled into our brains.
It gets better I promise you. The more time goes by without being at those insane meetings and the further you get away from the indoctrination our PTSD will improve. With time you'll be able to pick up hobbies and enjoyable life activities that will assist you in moving on from the cult. I took up guitar playing and songwriting over 5 years ago and it's been a huge help in my healing experience. So much emotional power and healing forces within music.
As time goes by hanging out with non- JW's and ex-JW's who are supportive you will gradually find activities that will help you heal from within, but emphasis on gradually. Don't pressure yourself to feel guilty about the way you feel- how you feel is natural as many of us felt as well. With time the JW cult will have less and less of an impact on your inner psyche and your life will be re-filled with positive activities that bring you happier and better memories. Give yourself time, be your own best friend. We were all taught as JW's to " hate " ourselves or not value our authentic selves and we had low self esteem. It takes time to rebuild that self esteem back up again. You'll do fine, you'll make it my friend. You're a cool guy and I for one really enjoy your contributions to this board. Please know you have friends here as a support and I offer my friendship as well. Take care, any time you'd like to chat, I'm always here, O.K. ? Been there, experienced this stuff myself. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

This whole election scene is so surreal - I'm like WTF is happening in my country?
There is this angry and emotional backlash of people who long for the 1950s - white men at the top, commie hunts, women in their place, everybody churchy, and those doggone ethnics in their place at the bottom of the heap. They seem to really resent that their little world has been changed.
They don't give a shit that Trump is mentally unbalanced.
Hillary is not really that much shadier than at least half of politicians and the 1% who are running things anyway... At least she has some intelligence.
Still going to vote green.

Hypothetical: If WTS Reformed...?
by Cold Steel inas i said in the subject line, this is purely hypothetical.
what do you think would happen if the wtbts leaders decided to reboot some of the organization's more controversial practices.
not that they would deny their claims to be jehovah's earthly representatives, nor the key elements of their eschatology; but in administrative outlooks.

There is no reformation for a criminal organization like the WT Society -

What steps did you take to free yourself from the cult? mentally or physically?
by HereIgo infirst i ignored all of the elders phone calls to send my recommendation letter to my new congregation, truth is i had already started my fade and moved across town and didn't have a new congregation.
i deleted all jw friends on facebook.
i also threw away all of my public talks recorded on cd, all literature, even my book bag and my bible.

Wanted to add I agree with OTWO about getting together with EX-JW's for support and friendships. Nobody understands what we've been through like ex-JW's. Each year we get together at South Lake Tahoe for a informal gathering of ex-JW's and next year will be the 10th year in a row we've gotten together. Usually have about 40 - 50 folks show up from the board from several different states and across California. Hope you can make it next year ! It's a blast. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

HEREIGO- Great thread topic. Thanks for posting it,
Initially back in 2003 I stopped attending meetings cold turkey- totally stopped. That really stopped the WT indoctrination process in it's tracks- thus freeing my mind up. I too like yourself refused to answer the elders phone calls . Then physically I moved about 45 miles away for a couple years, then moved about 60 - 70 miles away a couple years later and that really helped- although after being out for 3 years my former elders STILL tried to hunt me down. ( Long story - I'll tell you on the phone sometime )
Also like On The Way Out I read all of Steve Hassan's books on cult mind control , both of Ray Franz's books, read George Orwell's 1984 which exposes a society that is very similar to the control measures used by the WT Society's publications. Read lots of psychology books that dealt with control and how people abuse power in groups, individual relationships, and organizations - either religious or political.
Also I got heavily involved in becoming a singer/songwriter/guitarist back in late 2011 and I'm almost ready to release my 3rd album of music emphasizing social freedoms and singing about injustices, climate change, various subjects, etc. So that activity has kept me busy and expanded my mind beyond the JW cult for sure. Also am learning to play the banjo and mandolin a little bit. So it's been LOTS of fun pursuing the music. music is a universal healer for all of us.
My wife and me read a lot of history especially about the horrific treatment of Native Americans on the American continent discovering the real history that made this country " free " for the White Europeans. I'm heavily involved in Ancestry.com which I've researched my mom and dad's family back about 500 or more years now. And the fascinating history you learn from those middle age years is very educational. Also enjoy hiking in the forest and mountains getting back to nature in the back country gives me peace of mind. So there are many activities we can engage in to truly free our mind and bodies from this criminal organization the JW's. I keep busy for sure in my business as well

Governing Body Member Gerrit Lösch - What The Near Future Holds
by pale.emperor inanother talk from my channel.. gerrit lösch - what the near future holds.
apparently, jehovah god has "revealed" the future to us... unfortunately in 2008 when this talk was given he didnt reveal to them the mass downsizing of bethel staff and buildings, the child molestation payouts and many many changes to doctrine.. https://youtu.be/d8pvnrv5s94.

" What happened to him ? At one point he seemed like a very prominent GB member , but now he seems very much in the background. "
I'm pretty sure he is in the background BY DESIGN or on purpose. Remember HE was the GB member who refused to testify at the Gilbert Campos San Diego child abuse trial and the WT Society refused to allow him to testify or he refused to testify himself- or both. WT Society got fined millions $$$ for not giving the courts documentation on their child abuse policies or handing over the 22,000 JW pedophile list to courts from their database. And so too- WT Society stood in contempt of court by Losch refusing to testify.
So do you think they want Losch to stay in the background now ? Yep. I'm guessing that's the reason. What's the old expression ? " Out of sight , out of mind " ? Peace out, mr. Flipper
