Musicians Who Died in the Last Year - or Through the Years- Who Do you Miss Most ?
by flipper ini think for me in the last year the death of david bowie got to me the most.
not only in the way he handled his demise so classy by even making a song about it and a you tube about dying and sharing it with fans, but just his whole persona i always thought was pretty cool.
plus i enjoyed a good many of his songs.

Through the years for me the deaths of these artists saddened me as I'd always hoped to see more new music from them : Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison of the Doors, John Lennon, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Frank Zappa also Nick Webb of the guitar group Acoustic Alchemy.
These are some of the musicians who really influenced my life. How about you ? Who among musicians do you miss the most ? Please feel free to post any you tubes of them playing songs or performing ! Or any of their music ! Make it a testament to these great artists ! Thanks, take care, Peace & love, Mr. Flipper

So Are Inactives officially SHUNNED?
by minimus ini've read here that inactives are the same as disfellowshipped, treatment wise.
is that correct or did i misread it??
thanks......

PHIZZY hit on a really good point. " The fact that the GB/Leaders of JW org. would love to see " inactives " totally shunned , as we are the group most likely to plant seeds of discontent and doubt. "
Exactly. There's the point. GB doesn't have to worry as much about DFed JW's as many active JW's will follow instructions and shun DFed ones- but in many JW's minds they categorize " inactive " JW's as still acceptable to associate with. So if at these assemblies the WT leaders can manipulate the information through dramas and even HINT that associating with " inactive " ones is as dangerous as associating with DFed ones - then WT leaders will have accomplished their purpose of trying to stop " inactive " JW's from causing what they term " planting seeds of discontent and doubt " .
A very insidious trick on the GB's part, but one that many times successfully works when used with mind control tactics towards JW's. So we as ex-JW's who aren't DFed may have to be prepared to deal with this treatment as it appears some here are already getting stiffer treatment from JW relatives.
But we STILL have the Internet on our side to expose this evil cult. Need to keep that in mind. Access to information in news releases we leave on billboards at stores about articles on the Internet deflects attention from us to the Internet. It's like the old expression, " don't shoot the messenger "

Judge sanctions WTS - $4k per day penalty for not producing sex abuse documents
by Simon injudge sanctions jehovah's witnesses.
imposes $4000-a-day penalty for not producing documents in sex-abuse case.
by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

STUCKINARUT- You make a really good point. " The longer they string this out, the more guilty they just appear. "
Exactly. And WT leaders are SO arrogant, SO full of themselves - that they misapply scriptures thinking that they are obeying " God " by NOT turning over child abuse records to the courts ! That's how screwed up their thinking is feeling that God actually WANTS them to hide criminal child abuse records so a " worldly " court won't prosecute them !
Their thinking is SO skewed to the point that they think that ONLY " Jehovah " can judge them about anything - that " worldly " courts don't have the right to judge them concerning even crimes ! And yet in reality " Jehovah " will never judge them about anything as He most probably doesn't exist- so WT leaders knowing this perhaps in the back of their minds feel , " well, hell - Jehovah hasn't brought Armageddon, so we'll just stall the courts and authorities and we'll use the marketing ploy to JW's that the " worldly courts " are persecuting us just like they did Jesus and the apostles , and most JW's will believe us and sympathize with our plight of " persecution " by the courts ! " .
WT leaders are SO underhanded that as some have mentioned here- that is exactly what they are doing here. Using the assembly " bunker videos " to mentally prepare JW's for when the shit comes down in the media with stiffer penalties for hiding child abuse inside Jehovah's Witnesses. Talk about desperation ! But WT Society has pulled this deceit over before on it's followers in Rutherford's time when those WT leaders went to prison playing the " persecution card " - I imagine they feel they will pull it off again. The thing that's different now- is due to the Internet - MORE access to information than in 1918 so no one can hide under a rock anymore. This is beginning to get really interesting. I think we haven't seen the most exciting part of this " reality movie " yet ! Stay tuned

TIME BANDIT- I dig it. Totally agree that's what should happen to the GB. And throw in a few hardened long time male prisoners from various prisons as well . It would be one party the GB would never forget

Today's Text - Fear Mongering, Great Tribulation, & New Light!
by Divergent ina stupid text which raises many questions -.
sunday, june 26. there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.—matt.
24:21.. the earthly part of jehovah’s organization is moving ahead in various ways.

" Jehovah's organization is moving ahead in various ways. For instance, our understanding of Bible truth is constantly becoming clearer . " Uh-huh. Like how Jesus meant TWO overlapping generations of 75 years each in the alleged " last days " or " time of the end " ? Instead of the dictionary definition of a generation meaning 25 - 30 years ? You mean THAT " bible truth " ?
So " spiritual progress " is based on reading WT publications ? Errant ones at that ? Not based on being a " good person " or showing the " fruitages of the spirit " ? Yep. Sounds like the organization I used to be in, one reason I left

I agree with what Dunedain says. We can have an effect on getting the word out about child abuse within the WT Society. Leaving printouts about it on grocery store billboards works very well. Low risk, and people start tearing off JWFacts.com tear off sheets to check it out on the Internet. I've been doing that as well as lots of other people on the board here. And people ARE tearing off the sheets and checking this information out. Public needs to know. Peace out, Mr. flipper -

Why Are You Here?
by Believer ini'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.
as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.
as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

I'll add on a bit to Desirous of Change's comment - just to add a little lightness to the discussion. ( You know what they say about opinions ...........)
Yeah, isn't it " opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. " ? There- I said it.
Actually I kind of get a kick out of looking at everyone's ass, or excuse me looking at their opinions.
Hey look- If I get involved with a discussion that I don't like or enjoy- I look at this board in some ways kind of like an Internet television set - I just change the channel and go visit other threads that might interest me in a more beneficial manner. I'm not the kind of person who has to have an answer for every goddamned situation or problem on the planet. I really don't take it THAT seriously.
This board is great and helps people in many different ways . There are lots of multiple discussions going on with many different threads to broaden our horizons. I'm pretty irreligious, I know some people feel they need it- great- knock yourselves out - just don't push religion onto me and I won't push my " don't believe in God , anti-Christ views on you ". Agree to disagree, kind of my motto. I have tons of other activities I'm busy with in life to lose sleep over it. Like playing music and writing songs. Peace out, mr. Flipper

BEAUTIFUL MIND- I'm sorry to hear that your relative went back to the Witnesses. There are quite a few people who leave and get Dfed but never bother to research the Internet to DISCOVER the crimes and unjust deeds of the WT Society - so even in a Dfed state they still think it's " Jehovah's organization ". These are the kinds of people who don't educate themselves so no new information has ever gone into their brain neurotransmitters- thus they are still stuck in the JW way of thinking.
I've seen folks return to the organization who were out for 20 years - because they STILL thought it's " Jehovah's organization ". Their brains were stuck in " neutral " for 20 years with no new information to make them think critically- and they remain forever mind controlled. Pretty sad actually. I hope your relative someday reconsiders. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

In my opinion I feel the penalties need to be stiffer against the WT Society so they REALLY feel the $$$ pinch in their bank accounts.
Dropoffyourkeylee asked, " I wonder how any lawyer representing the JW's can now stomach it . " Pretty easily. JW lawyers are mind controlled JW's themselves mostly. WT uses their own JW attorneys who are as mind controlled as they are. AND- Probably into greedily extorting money from the flock as WT leaders are also.
Some ask here, " Why would WT not cooperate and hand over this information. " Another easy answer- because it will open Pandora's box and ALL kinds of information concerning the database files with names of over 20,000 JW pedophiles whom the WT leaders KNEW were pedophiles all these years- yet some of them WERE appointed as elders even after committing felony child abuse crimes. This would make WT leaders criminally liable. AND if names of governing body members are on that list - once again it would make them even more criminally liable for allowing this to continue.
So for WT leaders - it's a no-brainer as to why they'd rather pay out $ 4,000 per day than to be exposed in the National or worldwide media and the public finding out that WT leaders were actually physically involved in child rape and abuse. Or that there are actual NAMES of WT higher ups that might get printed in National or worldwide media who raped children. THAT would be big news. And cost the WT Society many followers and $$$$$ . I think the Titanic WT Society is just starting to drive it's ship into the iceberg. We haven't seen the last of this situation. It's about time
