by tamagotchi inhi to anyone reading this, so i little bit about myself.

TAMAGOTCHI- I understand how you feel. Welcome to the board . I was a born-in JW and escaped at age 44 finally- about 11 years ago. My dad and older brother are still long time elders and I have extended family who are still fanatic JW's. You will receive lots of support here on this board. Many of us have gone through the fire and experienced opposition from our JW family members for leaving the organization. We welcome you here and look forward to your thoughts. I'll PM you my phone numbers if you'd like to chat sometime. Hang in there, you have hearing ears here on the board -

Pope thinks hitting children is "Beautiful"
by cofty inone time, i heard a father in a meeting with married couples say `i sometimes have to smack my children a bit, but never in the face so as to not humiliate them.how beautiful!
he knows the sense of dignity!
he has to punish them but does it justly and moves on.

FREEMINFADE- I know that can be a real challenge for those of us ex-JW's who use social media- especially Facebook. One reason I've never signed up for Facebook. I have some of my JW family who uses that site and some of them would be just itching to get me in trouble so I'd possibly lose relationships with my mom who is older. So I steer clear of those sites. I have enough challenges just dealing with the still active JW members in my extended family already- I don't need more challenges. Hang in there, I wish you the best. It's not easy -

Just talked to Witnesses at my door for Hour about Watchtower Child Abuse
by flipper init happened again like in july when i talked to an elder and his wife about child abuse, but this time i got a hold of rank and file members who fortunately i was able to play like a fiddle as they had no idea what they were up against here.
so brother middle age ex-hippie convert ( as he told me later ) and sister middle age hair in a bun offered me the awake on death or our view of death.
i graciously accepted gaining their trust saying yes, i had close loved ones who had died over the years but didn't know if i believed in a resurrection or hereafter.

4RATIONALITY- Thanks for the information concerning attorneys Love & Norris's success rate and how many cases they had filed as of May 2004. I didn't know those figures. Wow, lots of cases even back in 2004 , 57 suits going on then . And if you add the amount of cases the Zalkin law firm is pursuing against the WT Society right now which I think are about 25 to 30- the WT Society has it's hands full with a huge accountability and huge liability to child abuse victims within the JW organization. Can you imagine if each of these suits won 5 million to 15 million $$$ for the victims how this will financially implode the WT Society ? I hope the mainstream media catches wind of all this activity and starts amping up the reporting of WT child abuse even more so -

Attacking the elders, can that bring down the cult??
by Crazyguy inthe borg has left out in the cold the victims of child molesters all to save their reputation and have used the elders to do their bidding in these evil works.
they have even made changes to their policies to put more of the responsibility on the elders.
so if the lawyers of these molestation victims which normally go after the money ie the borg were to also aggressively go after these elders in these cases could this not start a ripple effect where by elders find out and start resigning en mass to protect themselves knowing the borg not going to help them?.

This has already started happening in at least one case I know of with the Candace Conti case. If I'm not mistaken a couple of the elders in that case WERE sued and the congregation I believe. I'm not sure of the particulars if it was the elders and the congregation or just the elders. But the elders were sued as well as the WT Society. So it's starting to happen. But as someone mentioned - the big bucks $$$$ will come from suing the monsters who create " elder monsters " by their faulty, criminal policies and that's the WT Society itself -

What comforts you when you no longer believe in a ressurrection ?
by EdenOne inour family just lost someone dear and very close, a faithful jw.
as we went through the entire funeral services and meeting long time brothers and sisters, who in general have been very kind and warm towards us, we realize that the hope of resurrection is a meaningless utopia for us, like a fairytale for little children.
we don't have faith in it anymore, and serves us of no comfort.

EDEN- Good points you bring out. The thing that's helped me is to realize that because this life is quite possibly the ONLY life we will have is to approach my life with positive enthusiasm for my interests and hobbies and relationships so I can continue enjoying them in the here and now and treasure and value them. Because once they're gone- they're gone.
Also not having any fear of an imaginary " Armageddon " has worked wonders for my confidence and self worth . I can pursue life with no fear and guilt. My 2 cents. I'm sorry for your loss . Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Is the preaching work, no longer the number 1 priority?
by ToesUp ini have been observing a pattern in recent wtbs publications and events.
is the importance of the preaching activity no longer the number 1 priority?
are not billions of lives still at stake?.

INSIDE THE KH- Let me ask you this - in your years as a JW have you EVER heard of in the WT Society's 136 year history of a " need " to send appointed WT " brothers " to Kingdom Halls to " train " rank & file JW's of how to clean or maintain their kingdom halls ? The answer is NO. Because the WT society didn't have a vested interest in ownership of those Kingdom halls - they didn't care if kids urinated on restroom floors. NOW - the stakes and game has changed. The WT Society control has amped up and EVERY SINGLE MOVE will be scrutinized of rank & file JW's because the WT Society has stripped ownership of Kingdom halls from the " brothers & sisters ". Overbearing much ? Yes. Controlling much ? Yes. If you don't GET that you are just burying your head in the sand regarding any logical feedback concerning the WT Society's land grabs. Just putting some real into your version of reality -

National Public Radio (NPR) broadcasts today about JWs. Do you want to hear the secrets of what this religion has been keeping under wraps?
by AndersonsInfo into all those who frequent this discussion board:.
we just wanted you to know that an investigative public radio program named reveal, produced by cir (center for investigative reporting) and prx, will present today, saturday, february 14th, the results of new investigations uncovering hidden stories.
in this weeks story, there will be three different topics covered.

I read this article on reveal news website and it's absolutely mind boggling how the WT Society desperately tries to keep child abuse cases secret, in an exceedingly criminal way. I'm definitely going to listen to this radio broadcast. Thanks for posting Barbara -

I think you hit the nail on the head- " overseeing material assets " is the # 1 priority for the WT Society and GB now. Preaching is WAY down low on the list of priorities.
And this statement, " The organization will be sending " maintenance trainers " to each Kingdom hall and teach everyone locally on how to properly maintain Watchtower assets , I mean Jehovah's house. "
So the control gets ratcheted up several notches due to the fact that WT Society now has title and ownership of most all of these Kingdom halls now. Wow, just wow. This is 1984 and George Orwell all over again. Big brother is alive and well. Run for your lives lurking JW's ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
