Get prepared for questions, questions, and more questions. Some of the folks on this board HURT. They are not just unhappy, but they HURT because they looked, questioned, researched, and came to the conclusion that Jehovah's Witnesses do not have the Truth and made a choice to live their life without it. But in so doing, their families disowned them. How do you reconcile that kind of PAIN? By going back to it? That right there should tell you that real godly LOVE is lacking at the very core of a organization like that.

Because while one won't spaghetti sauce, the other one will. And it's just a pain in the butt to deal with.
Then why not write out your menus for the week. On Monday you have such and such (whatever Suzy likes), on Tues. choose something Bobby likes, etc. etc. Make it fair. Kids need BALANCED nutrition with a wide range foods. But it sounds to me like you're making sure they're getting the right nutrition with nuts and dairy and fruits for snacks. If they're healthy, you must be doing something right.

If you stick around and don't get scared off by some of these posters that will no doubt attack with a vengeance, maybe you could answer some questions that their BOE couldn't or wouldn't answer. Maybe you could proffer some REAL explanations.
i rarely ever set foot in the place and will go out of my way to avoid shopping there.
tonight i made the mistake of giving walmart the benefit of the doubt and walked in the door.. they didn't have the main item i was looking for, but they did have one other small item.
i headed to the front to check out only to find they had only a few check-outs open and all of the lines were far too long.
I can't stand Walmart, although, like most folks, if I need a mop bucket or something, I'll go there.
But, other than that, I try to shop at the Mom and Pop businesses even if I have to pay extra. I just figure that extra couple of dollars is what I'm paying for decent customer service and they always seem to appreciate your business.

Man! You nailed it. That is exactly the psychology. And you're right...you have to be hardcore and in it awhile to know what they are actually telling you. Talk about a mind f*ck!! (I don't usually say things like that, but that's the only way to describe it....excuse my French)

Our dinner table was always enjoyable, too. I remember laughing and telling jokes and talking about our respective days. But, at the same time we were staring at the green beans and moving the rice around on the plate and contemplating the carrots knowing at some point we were going to have to eat!
You don't have to have one or the other. Set one simple rule: I'm cooking wholesome meals and my children are going to eat them and say nothing about it. Now, how was your day?

And who determines what is foolish and speculative? Some old half-brain fart that never had a deeper thought in his life! This was the issue that began my long descent out of the WTS. I went to an elder with a question that I sincerely wanted an answer to. He told me I was speculating and if I had a need to know the answer to that question, I was spiritually weak. I walked away right then and there with a whole different attitude, my friend.

Then how are they ever going to learn what's good for them, because, let's face it, most stuff that's good for you doesn't taste good when you're a kid? You have to develop a taste for wholesome foods, and IMO it's a parent's responsibility, especially the mother, to make sure her children eat right so they can grow healthy brains and bodies. Just my opinion. No offense meant.
some supportes of the jws argue that the wts does not impose on its followers to shun and disgrace ex jw family members, it leaves them the option to decide on the issue and some shun and others do not.
is that an honest arguments or is it like the blood issue where the wts supposedly doesn't impose on its members the decision to refuse blood?
for all we know the non shunning of ex jw family members except for absolutely necessary contact could lead a jw to dfing.

I think this is the key. Just don't talk about it to the nosey sisters if you do associate with them. JWs women are some of the most gossipy people in the world....boy could I tell you some stories!!!
