If you allow those things to be taken from you, for whatever reason, then you are responsible.
But what about the children....those of us who were raised in it? Some have been able to release those shackels of indoctrination, but others couldn't because of the "thought-control techniques" of the Society. If it becomes clear that there is a purposeful effort to control by means of the shunning policy, then they should be held accountable IMO.
If you came into the cult as a fully mature adult, then NO. But if you have been indoctrinated from early childhood, and it is proven that the behind the scenes leadership has purposely used mind-control techniques and fear of shunning, then YES.
