  i would love to meet her thru her.

  i'm sitting here at work by myself reminiscing about an old situation that created unneccesary tension.

  a few years ago as my mother was in the hospital just diagnosed with ovarian cancer,most family were already at the hospital but my sister who lived in new york at the time had not arrived yet.

  my mother who was newly reinstated and knew that my sister and her ex husband now boyfriend wanted to stay the week in her house.

  This story will just prove how f'ing wacky the Dubs are, quite the opposite from above, one of the elders in my cong (this is going back to the early 70's) said it would be OK to give a baby shower for a relative of a newly baptized couple, the reason being, since he and his wife were newly baptized, but his mom and sister were attending mtgs, it might encourage his pregnant unmarried sister to come into the truth if the sisters in the Cong thru her a baby shower, which the congregation did, my mom and Iwere there, his sister went on to have two other children out of wedlock and couldn't give a flying F about the Borg !

  i was dating a jw sister some years ago, i was ms at that time.

  it did not work out very long, we just grew apart.

  i saw her recently with her husband(an elder) which i have never met him before.

  Am I the only one who finds business witnessing to be tacky?

  i mean, seriously, interrupting people at their place of business, no matter how brief their presentation is, just seems tacky and intrusive, even more so than the door to door work.

  it's like they're going out of their way to annoy people.

  isn't one of the benefits of having to go to work that you aren't at home when jws call on you?

  Keyser, you reminded of a sister giving an experience in office witnessing way back when I was growing up, so I'd say somewhere between mid 60's - early 70's, these two sisters said they used to travel into Manhattan and do some office witnessing, and of course they were so gracioiusly received ! I didn't even know they were still doing that, especially after 9/11 you need ID just to get to elevator !

  Do they still play the piano during songs at the KH?

  i was just now thinking of this do they still play the piano at the kh or is that part out of there all together also, i have been learning that when you look at a word in the bible many words translated over to hebrew have a deeper meaning for example the word praise a person can just glance at the word and think praise, but there are many hebrew meanings behind the word praise and one of the meanings:.

  zamar-to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument i.e.

  play upon it, to make music accompanied by the voice, to celebrate in song and music, give praise, sing forth praises, psalms.

  It takes me a while to warm up to new people and because I've been this way for a while I don't have a good way to speed up the process. But on the flip side i don't like it if someone tries to speed up the process for me, that just pisses me off.

  Me too Mrs J, all the fault of being born in the Borg ! ! ! Unreal how many lives they've f**ed up. !

  What was your volunteer job(s) at DCs?

  seeing as it's that time of year i've been reminiscing.

  i used to volunteer as i really struggled to sit still all day, even with all the note-taking and sitting next to the deaf loop system and watching the bsl interpreter to try and learn a bit of bsl.. i have.... counted and voided food tokenspacked fruit bags at a sandwich stallcleaned the stadium at opening and closingcleaned and attended ladies toiletsmanned (or should that be womanned?!

  We had some family friends come to the NYC mid 1960's convention from Philly six kids in tow, the dad worked in the Auditing Dept. which meant we never saw him not one day of a week long convention because the Auditing Dept was in a hidden air conditioned room somewhere in Yankee Stadium.

  I wonder if they even bothered to pipe in the audio so "our dear theocratic brothers" could listen to the program.

  Mr. Snowbird and I Are Reconciling

  we've agreed to compromise on our differences and support each other through the years we have left.. i'm seeing a psychiatrist today to deal with my difficulties that stem from a traumatic and tumultuous childhood.. he is willing to yield in his beliefs that a man should control everything and make all the decisions.. being a stubborn jamaican, i realize how hard that is for him.. we're going to renovate the house so that he has his own quarters.. that way, my boisterous g'kids won't work his nerves too badly.. just wanted to put it out there.. syl.
