  because when you say you know whether there is a god or not your really telling me your full of tacos.

  No. They are saying they are sure no God exists because they have seen no evidence to the contrary. Usually it seems, in everything but this, that is a safe way to come to conclusions. Lack of evidence = lack of belief.

  There is no objective reason to bring a God into the equation at all if you can in any way look at the universe objectively, and stop thinking about humans as the be all and end all of everything.

  As people who don't believe in the bible, it is of importance to us that a candidate share our views, because believing in the bible means that decisions in this person's life are based upon certain premises, premises we do not want to influence national policy.

  aka fundamentalists wishing for mount moriah to be nuked to herald forth the second coming of christ. Or not caring about the environment because God can restore everything...etc.

  When I was a child I lived in Virginia out in the boonies. We had about 100 acres of woods, waterfalls over a creek, a koi pond and rope bridges over ravines. I was afraid of the snakes but I loved the frogs and lizards that I would catch. I was always outside in my world of fairies, a lot of that time as close to the top of a tree as I could get. I would play in the gazebo for hours on end. To me this was paradise.

  A few years ago, after dreaming about it for years I went back to my childhood home. It was difficult to find because of all of the new housing additions in the area. But there in the middle of it all was my home with the little guest cottage behind it. When I realized I had finally found it I burst into tears I was so overcome.

  The owner allowed us to walk around the place a bit, she was very hospitable. I took pictures of my granddaughter in the broken down gazebo by the creek and beside the dried up koi pond. It was sad to see what time had done to the place but it refreshed my soul to walk on the same soil that meant so much to me as a child.

  It was a good day.

  That was beautiful, it is always beautiful reading about your youth.

  Yes, but from one man to another, they both tend to look a little gay (not in the strict homosexual sense, just the "ghey" sense). I think they're a little too "mid-nineties" for me.

  George Stroumboulopoulos sports a soul patch, I think it suits him well. A long egyptian style goatee would look wicked too.

  I've started growing a goatee minus the 'stache part, don't know what it's called

  a goatee.

  spot underneath my lower lip. I forgot what they call that.

  I had to part ways with my cat Isaac early last month, it's terrible, I had him since he was a kitten and for 3 years. My grama was allergic so I couldn't bring him with me when I moved. So my uncle took him in until I got my own place, but then it fought with his cat so they gave it to someone they know, thus I can't have him back when I want now.

  ten pounds in ten weeks week one

  haven't read the posts on the other thread yet - will do so asap.

  in the meantime, had a long day myself, did not got for a walk, worked nine hours without a break!

  busy day, had breakfast, only a yogurt for lunch, was glad to come home and have a bowl of cereal.

  well that is interesting - I didn't know that - so the reason people put on a few pounds as they age is because of decreased activity? or more calories sneaking in? I firmly believe that the basic problem is calories in, calories out, no matter what the reason is for overeating.

  Decrease in activity sure. Less weight bearing exercises to keep the lean muscle mass up (remember a pound of muscle burns 50 calories a day at rest! If you added 4 pounds of muscle to your frame, you will burn 200 extra calories a day just sitting on your arse). It's mostly the loss of lean tissue as I said. I doubt it would be more calories, our appetites tend to decrease as we age.

  You are ignorant of what "Anglosphere" means.The word "Anglosphere" does not refer to race or ethnicity. It refers to a common British origin, a common English language, and many other things, a prominent one being British Law, as you yourself note. Here is a link to inform you.

  It refers to ..."British origin" does it...? And as I myself noted the law aspect of it, that is all that I see in my present day Canada of Anglosphere.

  He will be out of power in a few months.

  Will the changes to the laws be out of power in a few months? Exactly why Washington instituted the two-term rule. Carryover.

  You know what I find very interesting about those statistics? They state as a total 19.9% of Canadians are in favour of annexation by the United States. During the American Revolutionary War, it has been estimated that only 18% positively/actively supported the Revolution. Fascinating correlation.

  Yep. And those Athabascan tar sands are not the gold mine they have been trumpeted to be. Extraction rates will ramp up slooowly. As in over decades-not nearly fast enough to compensate for production declines from conventional sources. And by the time they are done the region will look like Mordor. There are intimations that the world's largest oilfield, Ghawar in Saudi Arabia, has peaked. If it goes into serious decline the death knell of the Oil Age will have sounded. Actually, there is good reason to believe global production reached its peak in the last quarter of 2006.

  Very impressive. I'm glad I do not need to explain this.
