My wife thought that going to the meeting was more important than helping her ageing parents to move in.
So much for "Honouring your parents" eh?
i have had a bad day and thought that i eould share it with you to either cheer you up - glad i am not him.. story - my in laws are moving to a flat/appartment, and they had a load of rubbish to be moved from there by today so that the workmen can finish tommorow.they (the in laws) can not do to much as they are quite infirm.
guess who did - in one - me!
i said to my jw wife as i ran to her the meeting would really appreciate a hand here, she indicated that she really could not as she must get to meeting.

it has been our local circuit's two day assembly this weekend.
it takes place at bristol assembly hall.
from what i recall seating capacity is about 1200. .
More 'brothers' are deciding to eat lunch in their cars in the car park and not enjoying fellowship in the specially assigned eating area, which you can imagine was about half empty.
That's your answer right there! There's simply no enjoyable fellowship at the assembly anyway, so why not enjoy what lunch you have in your car? First you're "advised" not to leave the Assembly compound to purchase lunch, now they're even griping about having lunch in your car ... jeez!

They forgot the most important one .... PUKE!!!
Honestly speaking, do you consider yourself "privileged" or "burdened".
1. Top of the World. (this is my absolute favorite!)
2. Mr. Postman.
looking back, i realize that the jw yearbook was about the only thing i looked forward to.
i would usually read it in it's entirety.
when i became older and wiser, the information in the yearbook seemed so .... well, shady.

i have always loved it when the seasons changes.
i was always told that we would have temerate weather all of the time and the seasons wouldn't chage.
i always thought i would miss the changing leaves, budding flowers after it has been so cold, and the snow.
And the 1,000 years of remaining strong without being perfect
Ditto! And to make things even worse, you could still be killed by Jehovah AFTER you've achieved perfection!
at the agm it was announced that all elders in the us will attend a weeks 5 days kingdom ministry school next year.
there will be a different class held at patterson each week until all us elders have attended.
not sure about other countries.
So exactly how is this going to work ... all the US elders must journey to Patterson, away from their respective congregations for a week. Does that mean that random congregations will be elderless for an entire week?
let's see what notes i took.
it was pretty spotty; i fell asleep a few times during the days, so some parts have nothing.
also, some parts have nothing that caught my attention.
"The meetings have been set up to exercise your mind!"
How much exercise does a mind get when it's asleep?
whenever i used to get hassled for not pioneering, i love passing along this little nugget of wisdom: "can you imagine what it would be like if everyone in the congregation pioneered?
no one would make any money to put in the contribution box, donate for gas, or buy groceries for the pioneers!
everyone would starve!".
"Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone in the congregation pioneered? No one would make any money to put in the contribution box, donate for gas, or buy groceries for the pioneers! Everyone would starve!"
There would be no one left to "support" the pioneers. I wonder where they would get their food, shoes, transportation ... Certianly they won't be able to depend on OTHER pioneers!
