I said - No they weren't, but then I realized later "God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers."
I just remember many years ago when that song came out it really touched me. I was a single mom with two young ones. It seemed like my prayers were not answered but it may have been that what I may have prayed for or asked for were not what was best for me. Therefore, I was better off that he did not answer those prayers. Maybe he knew a little more what I needed than I did.

Were your prayers ever answered while being a JW
by Grouper indid any of your prayers ever get answered while being a jw even if they where small maybe insignificant?
pesonnally i never really needed my prayers to be answered but one time while the co visited us i was going to work with him durining saturady service i get there at 0930 but service started at 0900. i felt i missed my chance to work with him and show i was commited and i wanted to asked him how i can reconcile the fact i did not believe that noah's flood existed globally with the way the society views it.
i left the kingdom hall pissed off thinking i fu*ked things up, so i kinda said to jah well i messed up gettin some clarity to to my quandry.

My taking in WTS spiritual food now I think would be much like my cat's reaction to the white chalky medicine I am having to give him for a few days.

Patterson shock
by Phil inwell i have been there and am back.. this has got to be the most "pleasing" wake that i have ever attended.
it was performed and organized by the watchtower organization with the precisness of an organized military operation.
day one: had our greaving period alone with my son-in-law in his apartment followed with a meeting of her closest friends with a small lunch.. the following day, with a caravan of cars, we went to wallkill where a reception was followed by a graveside burial service and return to patterson to my daughter's apartment for a rest from activities.

I am very sorry you lost your daughter. It is even sadder that you did not have the opportunity to get the information you were collecting to her.
If there is a loving & forgiving God I am sure he will look after her now. -

You might also want to use a variety of Bibles and not let her rely solely on her New World Translation.
Supposedly the JWs were picked/chosen in 1919 by Jesus as the one true religion. Therefore you would think that everything in their literature at that time he approved of as truth. It is interesting to read the old literature from back then to see what it was Jesus thought was so "right" about their religion. If it was good enough for Jesus back then why is it not good enough today? -

To me the difference is that if the government catches you smoking they don't kick you out of the country and require everyone including your family to shun you the rest of your life or until they believe you have quit smoking and are sufficiently repentant. -

Why, why can't a girl start the lawn Mower?
by restrangled inok, my husband is in bed, there is just enough light to mow the lawn.
the gas tank has just been refilled, and there is fresh oil.damn it, i have primed it as required, and have pulled and pulled and pulled the stupid string.. why cant the damn thing start with out a guy???
my husband is now asleep and the damn lawn is 5 inches tall.. god help me!!!!!!!!!.

Mine always started right up for me back when I had grass (we have rocks now in AZ desert).
It may need a tune up. Check the spark plug - it may need changing.
Also- if you've tried several times the engine could be flooded. Let it sit a while and try again. -

That's another reason it's a big deal.
