Welcome to the board Dave!! Great intro too!!
Youve come to the right place pal. Lots of people on here can relate to your experiences. Hope to hear more from you!
i was raised among the witnesses and left in my early 30's due to a mixture of doctrinal disputes and social isolation.
my mother and both of my sisters remain within the organization.
i also have two brothers, one df'd, one who never quite caught the watchtower bug.. my road within the organization was a rocky one that eventually lead to a place where i found myself socially isolated within the congregation as a person simply unfit for fellowship with proper, upright, theocratic people who must cut off all 'worldy' association, suffer the ensueing isolation, and eat humble pie until such a time as they determined i was 'spiritual minded' enough for them to associate with.. baptism was held up as my expected goal, but despite trying, i was never quite good enough for them.

i have had a relationship with a lovely girl whos been following the jw faith since birth.
she hasnt been baithized yet and planes to this year.
we were going to get married a few years ago but didnt due to problems not reguarding religon.
First off, welcome to the board spirtos! I see this is your first post.
I have to agree with the other posters here. While a JW can marry a non-JW, it's not recommended. Nothing is more important to a JW than their religion. This could cause lots of stress and pain in your marriage. You truly have to think long and hard about that kind of decision. I hope things work out for you.
I agree too that the best way to educate a JW is with their OWN past publications. Especially since they are forbidden to read anything else. As far as obtaining Watchtower materials you can check out Randy Watters website: http://www.freeminds.org/. There you can find and purchase the actual Watchtower publications that you need. Even EBAY has Watchtower materials available that might be helpful. Best of luck to you!!!

Jeans are great! I wear them anyplace, anytime! I work in them and play in them... I love to wear them and I love seeing the opposite sex in them! Nothing like admiring a woman's a--, er, curves in a nice pair of jeans!!!
for company, i'll fix a tender, flaky crust and bake a creamy, cheesy quiche with either, bacon, canadian bacon or ham and top it with diced tomatoes w/green chilies and sour cream.. but just by myself, i lurv to fix hot buttered toast, topped with egg over easy and tomatoes w/green chilies...yummy!.
what's your fav?.
frannie.
Well they don't make it where I live. Seems to be a southern dish. So everytime I travel south I have to have Country Fried Steak w/gravy and scrambled eggs. It's awesome! Definately my favorite.
ok, who's ready to go out for some breakfast??? I'm buying!!!
it's a damp spring day here.
all the bugs are coming out.
this morning i went to do some laundry and there was the creepiest bug i have ever seen before in the laundry tub!
Wifey [aka Mrs. AKJeff], shortly after we were married [ right after the invention of dirt ], found a spider webbing in our kitchen window. It soon had hundreds of little baby spiders running around in the web. She scooped them all up, careful not to miss any or hurt any of them, and relocated them outside. Any wonder I had to marry this woman? Jeff
She sounds like a real "keeper" Jeff! Better hold onto her!!!
one of my old co-workers sent this to me.
the sad thing is that i have had this happen to me in service before.
oh, those were the days.
You might want to try and post that pic again. All I see is a red X...
for now the rules of dis world is satan.
but for 1 day satan will b destroyed.
Welcome to the board!!!
Wouldnt that be the "King of the North" and the "King of the South"??? Or did the "new light" change that teaching???

You are just too kind BB!
All I can say is that if I get reincarnated as a bug, I hope I find my way to your the laundry tub!

when jesus appointed the watch tower corporation as his only channel on earth in 1919, what did he appoint?
did he appoint the people?
they're all dead now.. did he appoint the printing equipment?
It seems like the only "beliefs" to survive have been the "dis-beliefs". . . dis-belief in hell, dis-belief in soul life, and dis-belief in trinity. That's a sad legacy that says just dis-beliefs survive.
That's very true Gary.
In fact that raises another question. Why would Jesus have appointed the WTS to be his sole channel on earth in 1919, if much of what they teach today differs so much from then?
The WTS published "The Finished Mystery" book in 1917. This book included Russell's belief that the great Pyramid in Egypt was God's stone witness. So in 1919 the WTS were still regarding the teachings of Russell as fact. Then they later abandoned much of Russell's beliefs.
