I was just researching some things and saw an article scan from 4-15-88 Watchtower. It talks of an unrepentant "wrongdoes", like a son who was a drunkard and glutton, and if he was unrepentant when brought before the judges, his parents would have a part in executing him. My mom had said to me last time she was here..."It's a good thing we are not in Bible times, you would be stoned!"(with hatred and sarcasm in her voice) It is sending chills down my spine to think she would actually feel righteous stoneing me.......Ekkkkkkk, that is scary and upsetting!

As a DUB, what did you do and hid so as not to stumble anyone?
by megsmomma ini was thinking of all the "concious matters" that you could do if you wanted, but would not tell anyone so you wouldn't get in "trouble".
one thing that came to my mind is when after having my baby, i wanted to join weight watchers...there were two meeting places to choose from...one close to me and in a church....and one quite far not in a church.
well, i went to the one in the church, always worried someone would see me(but i didn't really think it was a big deal) so, what did you all hide?

Parents still believe the JWs altough they know all the bad stuff.
by GBSJG inmy parents where not raised as a jw but converted to the truth true field service.
i was raised as a jw by them.. i have told them all the things that i've learned through this board and several books about the wts.
they are open enough to discuss these things with me.

It feels so hopeless, huh? The WHOLE REASON I started to research all this stuff is because my mom made me feel so guilty about leaving JW. I thought I may even go back to save my family...Then I found out all this stuff, and I was SHOCKED. I really didn't even know what the JW's believed! So, imagine my excitment when I called and told her what I discovered! I never thought it would make her so mad and result in no more conversations! They are truley brainwashed....and some just enjoy their purpose from being in the org. (I guess)

I am sorry for your loss as well. And I am sorry there was no support from any JW's.
As a side note, I used to always think of that scripture in Eccl. as an answer to what happened to us when we died. However upon doing a study on it.....It was written as if there wasn't a God, or any hope. That is why the author keeps saying "everything under the sun"...and if you read the whole thing, you get the gist of it. Eccl.10:19...It says that "money is the answer for everything", so I don't believe that it is to be taken literally.
Having said that, I have no idea what the process is when we die...if we "sleep" for a time, and are then resurected....or if it happens "in the twinkling of an eye". But, I don't feel the need to know for sure anymore.

Gays Leave JWD!
by hambeak ini got a phone call from a person that i gave my phone # to.
and this person said that gays are not welcome here and this is not what this board was really about.
i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.

I think that person needs to go away.....this board is about acceptance and we all have sinned, so who are we to judge? Can we really say that because you were born gay that you are a worse sinner than someone born straight. Ham...in my book you are great and you are welcome anywhere that I would ever want to be.

I like Explorer type vehicles...but I think I would actually like a mini van. My husband kept saying they were pretty nice, but I always said "I will never have a mini-van"....then I realized it was because all those bad memories of being crammed in one like sardines whle out in field service! Funny how your subconcious gets to you.....I must be pretty free now that I would get a mini-van!

Generaration doctrine still current on Watchtower Site
by littlemike init is now over 11 years since the wtbts abandoned the generation doctrine linking those being born before 1914 and still being alive when armageddon arrives.. however it is still available as current doctrine on the watchtower web site.
this is not just a simple mistake.
the society did not have this web site running in 1995 when the doctrine was changed.

They are so ridiculous, aren't they?? The average JW doesn't even know what they teach though, so I bet it is hardly noticed by them.

Did You Know Many JWs that Were Always Depressed & Sick?
by minimus inis it me or is it reality that most jws are troubled??
that is they don't seem to be the "happiest people on earth"?

I remember them even talking about this on the platform...Either you are suffering from cancer or depression. It's this wicked system getting to us, and Satan is attacking all the good little dubs....So that is the excuse as to why all are miserable. Funny how getting out of the org is the best cure for depression!

Gigantopithecus?
by skyking inthis has been very interesting to say the least.
proof of ancient giants?
i don't think so.. i was talking this morning to a person that emailed me photos of giants that have been excavated and he claims this is proof of the nephilim.

This is an interesting topic. I was talking to my hubby about the nephlim...and he never heard the story. (and he grew up in a church) So, I told him...well you better go read the Bible...then I thought...maybe I need to go read the Bible! LOL....So, anyways I could not find anything in there about the Angels "looking down on the wemon of the earth and coming down to have sex with them" and producing Nephlim....So is this really in the Bible at all? If it is, can someone tell me where to read about it?
