  for many years i have wondered about the nephalim, sorry if this is a previously asked question.. i don't undertsand how the angels could have got women pregnant.

  surely they did not have any inherent capabilities of producing life.. it seems to me that only a creator would have that ability.

  so how did the angels get the women pregnant?.

  I will put every effort into watching this organization boil away to nothing. Then when the big 'A' comes and there is no godly organization to go to for protection, wish that I had joined them all along.

  The "tiring out" of chronology

  much has been said on this forum about the reasons for the jw lack of growth in western lands.

  numerous explanations have been put forward for this and for the future prospects of the organization.

  but, above all else, i believe that there is one overriding reason behind it all.

  I sure am glad that scholar came to the rescue on this topic. He is the best person on this board to fully represent the Watchtower position. He constantly searches the board for any post that has ?607? or ?destruction Jerusalem? in it and then tells everyone that the Watchtower has proven beyond a doubt that the date is correct and all apostates are from Satan.

  I would like to think that chronology is dead, but with the comments of 2034 at one of the recent meetings I would think that it might rear its ugly head once again. There have been recent topics on this new date, on this discussion board, and I have followed them. I have, however, noticed the enthusiasm of the dubs when they talk about the new date and the short amount of time for this wicked system. It is something of a rejuvenation of their beliefs and gives them something tangible to look forward to, but time will tell if it will work or not. I think that some have come to the conclusion that 607 BCE might be a bad date and that might become the undoing.

  I am encouraged by Elsewhere?s comment that fewer people are listening to the message because of the saturation level of families and people who have been hurt by their destructive methods. I have run into people who have been shunned by the org and now freely talk about their methods.

  I would like to think that we have eroded the organization a little bit. OKAY, OKAY, I hope we destroy the darn org. But above all else, I like this board for the information that it provides, the chance to vent, and be able to share information. If there is a side benefit of just affecting one percent of the current membership that would over joy myself.

  If the JW leadership is all about the money, what do they want it for?

  in the brief time that i've been reading jw-related postings and sites on the net, i've seen a lot of stuff regarding the jw leadership being all about the money with the implication that there is something unsavory about their acquisitiveness.. if that is true, what exactly do they want it for?

  from what i've read, the gb seem to live reasonably well (better, in fact, than the average jw would expect, i think) but it hardly seems anything that would have earned them a spot on lifestyles of the rich and famous.

  so, why would they be so concerned about amassing organizational wealth?

  I think that the governing body is a group of men that believe in their cause. They think that what they are doing is for the betterment of people and the end of this system. The collection of money is just another way to report success. We get to see the annual numbers of baptized, pioneers and number of hours as a form of growth, while they get to see the bank statement. From a spiritual perspective they have everything that they want, power, a comfortable place to live and the shaping of the organization.

  You could also ask why do people give up everything to be a CO, and it is probably for the same reasons. The power must be intense and one of the reasons that turns me off to the organization.

  to a very close relative, who said they will listen if i can mail them info.

  basically i need to present the truth about the truth, but only things that can be verified either in society print, or in the case of the un, from the un itself, no opinions, just documents that can be checked, preferably old and new and on varying matters, inconsistencies, blatant changes in doctrine etc, with references.. .

  it's always been so 'matter of fact' for me that it's all false, i fear that if i try to provide information with just my own mindset, i will miss a lot and might not provide the best info, i have tried searching on the site but there are so many posts i struggle to find even posts i remember seeing last month.. .

  It is hard to prove to close relatives that it is a false organization. Let me rephrase that ?It is hard to tell anyone that is already caught up in the trap that it is a false organization. If the Watchtower parasites have already warned them about the persecution that Satan will send their way once they are studying, then you will have an uphill battle. Might want even more artillery.

  One subject that has broken through some of the enemy lines has been the 607 v. 587 debate. There are some good links in the link section and a good search will turn up more on the Internet. Give them a challenge, such as, prove that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 BCE using secular evidence and I will not interfere with your studies.

  Millions of Galaxies in the Universe with billions of Stars so why?

  recently a public speaker noted that the earth and humans are insignificant in comparison to the universe with its millions of galaxies and billions of stars.

  my question to bible literalist's is... why did god confine satan and his demons to the vicinity of the earth with so many other uninhabited options?.

  why not restrict them to uranus with a bunch of meat puppets to beat up?.

  One of the questions that I would have with any of the religions. If the universe is so big, than why would a god care about this spot in the universe. If you look at all of the grains of sand on the earth it would even take a god a little time to find the one that held his chosen people.

  i have never been a religious person, despite being raised as a witness and going through the motions.

  now that i'm out, i'm not a religious person at all.

  i don't believe in god, i think there is some sort of higher power, but i'm just not that concerned with learning anything about it.

  I question a lot of the bible, the method that it was put together, and all of the characters. I think that if you read into it enough you can get some good points out of it. If that is what you are looking for. I do not know if there is a higher order, but looking out for other humans feelings makes me feel better than living by ?bible standards? (?).

  has anyone heard (or seen) any comments from witnesses about the december 15, 2003 watchtower that seems to be to be pointing to 2034 as possible date for the end of this system of things?

  Yes, I heard people mention 2034 during the meeting. Kind of scary that people would fall into the trap so fast and easily. Of course, this can?t be good news to all of the older sisters who have lost husbands and children to this wicked system of things and are waiting for the new system to laugh in their faces.

  The 607 BC date has been mentioned a few times, in past topics, and could be recapped by SCHOLAR if you want to listen to the party line (JW). I think that he has proof of that date that he will not share with us.
