  What a rare treat. One thing the gentleman said that rang true. About the "adrenaline rush" you get when you get near the Kindgom hall. I have realized that it was Panic disorder all along. Excellent, just excellent!

  So I went to the Memorial last night...........

  so i went last night and it really wasn't that bad.

  in fact, i felt comfortable.

  i got the usual greetings, hugs, and one of the elders almost came to tears when he saw me.. there were also the "same-old" "same-olds" who look right through you and never say a word to you.

  YOU, Dave-o, have done something I always wanted to do: Partake just to see what everyone would do! (Not that is why YOU did it) I felt bad a little last night, thinking (Or imagining) that some of the sisters would be looking for me (I dropped out last year). But, then I got over it!!!! I personally feel that you shouldn't go unless you are a sincere believer in what they are preaching. I could not have done it. But, hey, live and let live.

  this is my first memorial as a member of jwd.. the only thing i could muster up was a cup of coffee and a doughnut.. i'll be around the real stuff tonight.. warlock .

  Am I to assume that some of these posts are REAL WITNESSES, who do in fact, go to the memorial and then rush home and make a post about it. That's a joke, right? You guys are just kidding, right?

  well i just got back from the memorial, after being dragged along somewhat reluctantly.

  during the talk, one statement in particular caught my attention which i hadn't heard previously.

  the speaker was explaining why probably no-one there should be partaking of the matzo and wine, because on the night of the passover jesus began selecting his 144000 heavenly co-rulers starting with the 11 apostles who were present - and that from then on, most of jesus' other followers just observed and did not partake, recognizing that they were of the earthly class.

  Is the same discourse given at ALL the memorials??? Or does whoever Elder in charge write his own speech? Please post full outline, as this js the first year I'm not going, since 1967 having dropped out last year.

  can someone tell me what exactly to expect at the memorial thing tonight?

  i have never been and don't really want to go, but i also want to satisfy my curiosity about what happens there.

  i know i can't eat the bread or drink the wine.

  All the women dress up "special" like sort of Easter Outfits. That they will not be wearing on Easter. I have even seen some in gowns. There is a discourse on Jesus, some scripture is read relating to the "last supper" And Jesus quoting to "Do this in rememberance of me" But you can't partake on the emblems (Matzo and wine) unless you are one of the "annointed" And they know who they are. There's not many left of the 144,000 alive to do this. They come out this one day for this occasion. According to Ray Franz, that is ALL they do! I plan to have a glass of Red wine and a Matzo at 7:30 this evening and read those scriptures alone, and partake myself at home.

  Thanks Blondie, I was waiting for you're reply. I always understood that "in the field one would remain, while one taken" meant, one would be saved at Armegeddon and one would perish. Everybody has the're own interpretation. I never knew JW's belived in the rapture at some point. I never heard it from them even back in 1967!!! Thanks again.

What's up with this RAPTURE???? Or has this already been posted a million times before? I mean, where does it specifically say this in the Bible?
