for the umpteenth time the watchtower society has published an article about sex.. this time i am referring to some material they have seen fit to publish on their website:whats wrong with premarital sex?.

All this talk about sex... Oi! Im not coping well, I've been stuck on a boat for 5 weeks straight now and im getting SEVERE withdrawals!!!

Just as a side point... What does the organisation say about wet dreams? Are teenagers allowed to have them? Should they be encouraged against dreaming or just as soon as they do should they wake up and quickly start praying for forgiveness? I bet theres some elders who would love to hear all about the dreams before they ~~harass~~ counsel the poor kid that went to them!!!

just had to share this one with you.... i was offered a job on the next series of survivor, working with the cast and crew for 3 months during the shoot.

i thought i was going to have to turn it down because misspeaches wedding is in the middle of it, turns out, they might be able to give me work for 6 weeks instead of the full time, fingers crossed, that would be awesome!!

Sure I'll be your 'insider' with all the goss! Will have to keep my mouth shut until after the shows been aired though!

I worked on another reality tv show late last year and early this year, for 3 months, and found out from that there is nothing real about reality tv - its all so hyped up and manipulated, that said it was the most fun ive had working in a long time!

Was it a really common thing for people to get the giggles when they were giving presentations in your halls? I remember doing demo's and if the demo not going the way it was supposed to or I would forget what I was meant to say, it would set me off and I would start laughing. It would then get rediculous and I would be in hysterics laughing uncontrolably, normally I would start the person I was doing the demo with laughing as well. Im sure it was nerves, or maybe it was the little voice inside my head telling me what was going on was a joke!!!

Thanks bikerchic, im really excited about it, should be lots of fun! I have to say though, its me thats the lucky one having a friend like misspeaches... Oh arent we all so nice, I feel like either vomiting or group hugging, I cant work out which!!!

Im terrified of misspeaches and the arse kicking I would get wouldnt be worth it... Hopefully I'll have work to go on with when i come back from survivor ealy, if not misspeaches will be putting me up at her house free of charge and supporting me til I find more work!

When my family went to do the ol "serve where the need is great" shit, it was just our family at the meeting, we would sit around the kitchen table and have a "normal" meeting. This would include the 3 of us singing kingdom songs and my dad asking the questions in the watchtower, if we wanted to answer we would have to put our hands up... What a crock!!!

Were you a bathroom breaker?

i swear my mother used to keep better track of my bladder than i did.

she'd sit me down occasionally for talks such as "i noticed you've been going to the bathroom a lot during the meetings lately maybe we need to cut down on what you drink on meeting nights" etc.

others would go 2 or 3 times a meeting and if i went twice a week i'd get a talk about it!

This thread is hilarious... I had completely forgotten about getting councelled about going to the bathroom during meetings... What a joke!!! Maybe if the meetings werent so damn boring people wouldnt look for things to do apart from sit there and listen. Why didnt the JWs ever think that???

Im turning all bitter about things from being on this board... I like it!

Regrets of Being Brought up as a Witness

ive never really been one to say a whole lot against the organisation, even though i was really unhappy in the years leading up to getting out of it, i still think theres so many good, peace loving and genuine people in it.

that said i was brought up as a witness and sometimes feel like ive been robbed of a true childhood.. my dad was a lot older than my mum, and was almost 50 when i was born.

he was the po in the cong and being a witness was, and still is, everything to him.

Thanks everyone for your words of understanding, it feels really good talking to people that are in the same boat as I am. Im not really one to talk about feelings and emotions very much I tend to move on quickly and forget.

Last night when I wrote the post, I was in a bit of a bad mood. I work on a boat and have been on it now for 32 days straight with the same 26 guys, Im starting to suffer from severe cabin fever!!! Anyway, only another 10 days to go, then a weeks holiday in Thailand before heading home to Australia! Cant wait!

DebBeachBabe, I had a conversation with my niece when she was about 16, she was going to quit school, get baptised and pioneer. Im so glad I had the talk to her, I managed to talk her out of it and "live" a bit before she made those commitments! Shes now 20, out of the organisation, and really happy!
