Governing Body new Branch letter begging for donations !

i just want the governing body to know how "happified" i am today.

keep sending those branch letters to the congregation(s) about sending your donations in.

not only did you humiliate the rank and file with your tony morris tight pants talk but now you are begging the same people you humiliated for money.

Dear Brothers:

We would like to express our deep appreciation for your generous support of Kingdom
interests around the world. God’s people have a long history of making heartfelt voluntary contributions
to support true worship, and this year was no exception. As we are well-aware, considerable
resources are needed to publish and distribute Bibles and Bible literature, to build and
maintain meeting places and branch facilities, and to provide emergency relief aid to fellow believers
in times of disaster. Your recognition and appreciation for these blessings are evident by
your willingness to “honor Jehovah with your valuable things.”—Prov. 3:9, 10.
There is ample evidence that Jehovah is speeding up the work. (Isa. 60:22) With the recent
adjustments to Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction and financing, concerted effort
will be focused on building places of worship throughout the earth. We are confident that
with Jehovah’s continued blessing, many more will stream to “the mountain of the house of Jehovah.”—Isa.
2:2.
As loyal Kingdom subjects, we continue to show our support for Kingdom activities with
all our heart. Just as under the Mosaic Law each Israelite man gave a gift “in proportion to the
blessing that Jehovah” had given him, we today reflect on how He has blessed us in our lives and
freely give of our time, energy, and resources in promoting Kingdom activities. (Deut. 16:16, 17)
As we do so, we are assured that Jehovah treasures such a giving spirit!
We pray Jehovah’s rich blessing on all your hard work and loyal service as we work
“shoulder to shoulder” in support of Kingdom interests.—Zeph. 3:9.

GETTING THINGS STRAIGHT. Who invented the "FDS" as a prophetic identification of the GB? WHEN?

15 july 1906 issue of the watch tower russell stated maria russell was the first who in 1894 "called attention to matt.

24:44-45, applying it to me at a meeting at allegheny and in another meeting with the new york church.

i demurred that i had not thought of the passage thus, and declined to make any personal application of it, although i could not deny the force of the argument....i urged great moderation in the making of any personal application" (p. r3811).

These clowns were saying that by 1922 (23) Russell was the FDS? But now they say the GB was the FDS by 1919? Even thou the GB was not "created" as it is today until the '70s. Crazy.

do other religions change doctrines like the wt society does?

i just wondered.

i mean ok, the catholic church seems to make 'adjustments' more or less , by accepting previously held prejudices.

against certain things, like gays, or birth control, or rather tolerate it more, but is that a genuine change of doctrine?.

What can be done to assist brothers and sisters who suffer from adverse reactions to fragrances?

Any who are sensitive to fragrances face a difficult challenge. Very likely, they have little control over their exposure to fragrances in day-to-day interactions with strangers. Yet, some have inquired whether it would be possible to request that the brothers and sisters refrain from using perfumes and colognes at Christian meetings, assemblies, and conventions.

Certainly, no Christian would knowingly want to make it difficult for another person to attend Christian gatherings. All of us need the encouragement that our meetings provide. (Heb. 10:24, 25) Consequently, any who suffer from fragrance sensitivity that is so severe that it hinders their meeting attendance may wish to discuss the matter with the elders. While it would not be Scriptural or appropriate to make rules about the use of fragrances by those attending meetings, the elders may be able to provide information to help congregation members understand the issues that others face. Depending on the circumstances, the elders may decide to consider previously published information in a local needs part during the Service Meeting, or they may choose to make a tactful announcement on the subject. * However, the elders cannot constantly be making announcements of this kind. At our meetings, there will always be newly interested people and visitors who are unaware of the problem, and we want such ones to feel welcome. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable because of his or her moderate use of fragrances.

Where the problem exists and local circumstances allow, it might be possible for the body of elders to arrange for those who are sensitive to fragrances to sit in a somewhat isolated area in the Kingdom Hall. For example, there may be a conference room equipped with sound where they could sit in order to benefit from the meetings. If the matter cannot be resolved reasonably and some are still suffering severely, the congregation may be in a position to record the meetings for these ones or to arrange for a telephone hookup to their home, as has been done for others who are confined to their homes.

In recent years, Our Kingdom Ministry has encouraged brothers and sisters to show special consideration in this matter while attending regional conventions. In view of the fact that most conventions are held in enclosed areas with mechanical ventilation, attendees have been asked to limit their use of strong fragrances at these events. Special consideration has been urged particularly in regard to regional conventions, since it is generally not possible to provide fragrance-free areas at the venues used. However, it was never intended that this direction become a general rule for congregation meetings, and it should not be interpreted as such.

While we live in this system of things, all of us suffer the consequences of inherited imperfection. How we appreciate the efforts of others to alleviate our suffering! It may represent a sacrifice for some to refrain from using perfume or cologne in order to make it easier for a brother or a sister to attend Christian meetings. Yet, love may prompt us to choose to do so.

Is the WTS effectively 'pimping out' sisters?

i can't remember the topic with the discussion about the talk where they suggested that sisters should only consider ministerial servants as potential marriage partners but think about the implications more.. are they trying to use the potential affections of sisters to enourage brothers to do more and work harder?.

isn't this a form of 'pimping out' the sisters by limiting their attention to the people contributing to them?.

it seems to cross a line to me but i guess it's not vastly different to "only marry another jw".. what do you think?.
