Hi jakes: Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you are down today. I hope it's just a bad day and not something more serious. If it's the later my standard advice is to get professional help. Don't wast your life in a depressive state . Get help and enjoy the ride.
As for the book, could you give us a brief glimpse of your situation as a teaser? We love personal stories here.
Good luck with the publishing.

Not at all. I love these people. I hate what is being done to them. The deceit, the lost opportunities, the mind control... I have to restrain myself at every meeting so as not to shout out: "you're being deceived, think for yourselves!"

What if she never leaves JWs? (The interminable waiting period...)
by AuldSoul inthis has nothing to do with whether i love my wife.
i always will.. pragmatically, i have come to the devastating conclusion that i don't want to be married to a jw.
any jw.. she asked me last night, "so, do you believe in santa clause, now?

Dear Auldsoul: You poor baby! I really feel for you. You sound like a wonderful husband, and a sensitive human being, your wife is fortunate to have you.
I think your wife's problem is she cant' separate the you as a witness from the you now. She has to come to see you as just you. I really think you both could benefit from counseling. Yes, religion will be discussed, because it is at the heart of the matter, however a good therapist will not put down anyone's beliefs. That is not their job. They will attempt to get her to focuss on you and your marrige independantly of religion. There are many happy couples who don't share religious beliefs, even in the WT. You could be one of them, but it will take some work.
Never forget thet your self esteem does not come from how your wife or anyone else views you. It comes from within. But you do have to protect yourself from emotional abuse. If your wife will not take the necesarry steps to imrpove the marriage, you have to consider seriously what living with someone who looks down on you will have on your emotional state. Do your part to make things better but set some limits or boundries that you will not cross. You can't do it all alone. If your wife won't do her part, you will need to reconsider what to do.

"Blood is thicker than water". You parents are finally realizing what shunning really means and how much they have to loose. Take this as an opportunity to mend fences. As for indoctrinating the child, they can't do it if you don't allow it. At some point in the future bring up the subject and just state that you would appreciate it if they do not discuss religion or the Bible with your children. Be very clear with everyone what their roles are in the family. But above all enjoy your family.
