My husbands observation...
by megsmomma inwe were just discussing the whole thing about how only those jw's that live through the big a will be able to still be sexual beings and pro-create.
he said that the society is useing our most natural desires to scare everyone into staying in the org and hoping, above all else to live through the big "a".
and i was saying to him that if i still believed what they taught, i would kill him and my baby to save them.

What if it meant that resurrected people could bang as much as they want without getting married? :)

I don't think anyone can argue that Barton is the norm among Witnesses. I don't think there are any more psychotic murderers among the Witnesses than there are among the general population, nor can a case me made for it. And if Barton hadn't been a Witness he would have found some other excuse for his murderous tendencies.

I would pull the trigger myself. I am filled with boiling rage at reading that story. When I think of what treasures my three kids are--when I think of how absolutely wonderful, full of innocence and beauty and love and affection a four-year-old child is...
I don't even know if the death penalty is sufficient. This is one case when "an eye for an eye" would almost be better, and even then the enormity of what they did wouldn't be captured, because they're not four year olds.
I hope they die in a fire, or by drowning in a sewer. -

>under_believer, relax and just enjoy the post. It's under the jokes section, not under the lets analize this to death section. Take a deep breath and relax.
Mrs. Smith, it's just what I do. I "analize" [sic] things to death, and then debate them into the ground. It's fun for me. -

Your opinion on my really important question, please.
by jambon1 indoes a jw upbringing simply confuse a child or is it really damaging?.
i have no doubt that a jw child is, at least, confused with life.
in my own case my wife brings up my 2 children (aged 5 & 2) as jw`s.

>There's no such thing as a "moderate" JW. You are either one of them 100% or they will throw you out and not look back.
Parakeet, I disagree with that statement. Many JWs are moderate these days. My wife is one of them. It is a crisis for the Society. -

But Frannie, the assertion is that one can read a word simply by using the first and last letters. It doesn't say anything about context. In fact the assertion itself misses the point that context is everything in reading that sentence.
It's also important to realize that several important (key) words aren't mixed up in that paragraph, vastly increasing readability. -

Why do people believe in religion?
by sinis ini still have a hard time wrapping my brain around this.
for example why do so many believe in the bible when ample proof exists that negats its validaty?
why not believe in zeus or jupitor, etc.
