The Jan 1st WT says that they don't know whether or not they'll be any anointed left when Armageddon comes. They really should admit, that they just don't actually know anything.
My guess is that they've revised this teaching as they want to force the Anointed number down, and introduce Great Crowd members onto the GB.

Jehovah's Witnesses- Ever Increasing Religion 1,069,530 American Publishers
by Joker10 inthere are 1,069,530 publishers in america.
notice the growth spurt at the beginning of 2006. the last month of the service year shows an increase of 2.3%.
this year and/or next year may very well show jehovah's witnesses as the fastest growing religion in america once again.. .

Could you seriously not find an American religion that's not got more than a 2.3% increase? I'm sure the Pentacostals are about 8% ? I could be wrong though.

News review of the Watchtower tract - funny
by Dogpatch inhttp://www.gawker.com/news/lies-well-disguised/lies-well-disguised-the-watchtower-pamphlet-221156.phplies well disguised: the watchtower pamphletwhen a canvassing jehovah's witness stealthily slipped a pamphlet under my girlfriend's door recently, i saw it as a sign from god--a sign to critically examine the marketing prowess of the j-dubs.. i know zilch about the bible or religions.
i do, however, know bullshit.
i've created somewhere north of a 100 bullshit-filled brochures hawking everything from spice-infused vodka to urine analysis machines.. (continued on site).

A good article. Though I think him calling them J-Dubs suggests that he has actually had some experience with the Witnesses, but funny anyway.

on average, how much of the Bible does a Regular Pioneer read in a lifetim?
by A-Team ini honestly wanna know this.. .
i know pleanty of people who read the entire bible in a year, and on average, and wodnering what is the jw's % on this?.

Not many JW's have read the entire bible. After all the meetings, Pre-study, Service, daytext, WT and Awake magazines, and new WT books to read, they just don't have the energy.

So, Heidi's sister, has disassociated herself and become an atheist, suggesting she has found out the truth about the truth, but is willing to be respectful enough of her family's beliefs to not speak to them about the religion, in order to allow them to have access to her baby, despite having been shunned by them for several years.
Who's the more loving person here?
Laceyanne wrote: "She is expecting a baby any day now. She is unmarried and has no plans to marry the father. They have lived together for about 3 years. My parents want so much to play an active role in the baby's life. She said she plans to raise the baby as an atheist and she told us not to witness to him. This is just breaking our heart. I can only imagine the influence my brother will have on her child."
I'm sure if Laceyanne brought up a child, she would expect her sister not to tell her anything apostate or atheist, so Laceyanne's sister clearly has every right to tell Laceyanne not to Witness to her baby. -

A question for the men on this forum.
by restrangled ini've read so many posts from the men on this forum.
how many of you are are willing to defy the society, and defend your wives, sister, and/or daughters in the face of this religion?.
just a question not a threat.. r. .

Restrangled,
Having re-read the thread, were you suggesting that I didn't protect my sister because I was afraid of a meeting with the elders? Because that is crap. It was an empty threat, it peed me off, and I posted it on here as an example of how unloving JWs could be, but I KNEW it was empty. And if I had beat him up, I wouldn't have been disfellowshipped, so it's not like I would have lost anything, so that's not the reason I chose not to beat him up, I didn't beat him up because I would only ever use violence as a last resort. You can't just go beating people up everytime they say something you don't like. That's extremely thuggish.
As I've already stated in this thread, I've defended my sister in the past in the face of a real threat, so it's not like I'd just dismiss anything said about her. Do you think I don't care about my sister as much as your kids care about you, purely because I didn't beat a guy up for saying something I didn't like? I do care about my sister, I wouldn't have posted that thread if I didn't care about her, because the comment wouldn't have bothered me. I find the way you seemed to have judged me quite hurtful.
PS. And I think you called me a former elder as well? If so, that's wrong as well. -

Restrangled,
Since this is clearly directed at me, well, I know the guy very well, and I know, with absolute certainty, that he would never actually touch her. He even sent me an apology through e-mail about 30 minutes ago. Seems he woke up feeling guilty about it. I've defended her before, in the face of a real threat, and that was when I believed it was the Truth. I'm not a coward. sixofnine got it right. -

Does God expect the true religion to 100% right on everything?
by moshe injust what is the cutoff for being approved or disapproved by god?
i can't seem to find that number in the bible, can you?.
i was looking at the jw tract they just distributed about, "the end of false religion is near", and i think that jw's have it all wrong, as usual.
-
Zico
I agree Moshe! There's no suggestion in the bible that God's approved religion would be the one who is the closest to understanding the bible's doctrine, like the Society like to claim. True religion in the bible is identified by good works. God's true followers don't need to know who Babylon the Great is! They need to help and look after people!

Yeah, I spent a couple of hours in Seattle once, there were so many of them! But I was limited for time, since I had a boat to Alaska to catch, so I chose to use my time on the Space Needle. I'm not much of a coffee fan anyway, being British, I always prefer a cup of tea!
